Simply the best camera out there ..

Only issues ..
No support for Miracast (Wireless screen sharing)
Camera slow to start but excellent once up and running
Battery life is very poor when taking lots of pictures.

If photos matter - or if you want them to matter - there is no better phone available right now.

I certainly would have recommended friends get a 1020 a year ago but Microsoft's world-beating camera phone is in need of an update. Oh. Nothing short of a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera is even close to the 1020 for quality photos - especially the kind you take while out and about in life and not lugging your big camera. But the 1020 is now obsolete in terms of chipset spec and the 1020 will not be able to take advantage of the next update to be released for Lumia phones (Denim). But, if you want to take scintillating photos - photos whose image files contain enough data to really make them fantastic in post-processing - and you cannot wait for its successor (sometime in 2015) get a 1020 - you will not be sorry that you did. In addition, it is the ONLY Lumia with an optional lanyard - which has, for me, proved an invaluable "last bit to grab" and kept my phone fall and damage free. All Lumias should have a lanyard attachment.

The Lumia 1020 was my first Lumia and first Windows Phone since the HTC HD2. I love the camera since it takes amazing shots to fit any screen. The phone itself is fast, Cortana is amazing. The display is easy to read & the size is just right for your pocket.

It is fast beautiful and full featured phone with Windows Phone s/w and Nokia h/w. The perfect mix of usability, quality and looks. It feels great in the hand, nothing else comes closer

I love this phone and don't see myself with a new device unless Windows comes up with a newer version of the 1020. I love the camera and how easy this phone is to use.
I hope the newer version can have the same camera but faster processor and better screen resolution.

Excellent size, performance, operating system. Becomes useless when the 32gb gets full. The Windows 8.1 Project My Screen feature is disabled, and worthless. What a pity from Microsoft not to offer alternative memory increase solutions ... for instance, through the mini serial port.

battery problems/phone heating up

the os is great, i have used android/google since 09 with the my touch and progressed with the evo and then on to the galaxy s3. the way you can personalize the windows phone is great. camera and camera apps are awesome. lack of the same apps as google play is obvious and the battery getting hot while using the phone for long periods of time ie: watching netflix,or recording events with the camera. this last sunday i was at a football game and while i was using it all day , at one time my phone popped in my hand. i didnt notice anything wrong till at night i noticed a crack perfectly across the screen ,but its underneath the glass. then a couple of nights ago my phone died, it went threw the normal motions of dying. then i plugged it in and it will not charge and turn on now. ive only had the phone for 18 days now.
Pros: Personal, Business, photography, video recording, music device, gaming device
