one of the best tv ever

I just got my TV last Thursday and it is everything that I have expected.My new Samsung is an outstanding addition to my home entertainment system. The piece is ready for whatever 'upgrades' come our way for the next few years so no buyer's remorse or feelings of anxiety about the item being obsolete in a few months. The color is amazing, ease of use terific, For LCD technology, this has got to be the best picture, quality, and value money can buy. And the TOC, or that little touch of red around the cabinet; well I thought that was silly and useless and it did not play a factor in my decision to purchase; but wow does it look fantastic! That bit of color takes the edge off of what would be a big black shiny electronic inside a beautiful antique cathedral amoire. The red actually helps the transition from old world to modern and makes the tv feel more like a piece of furniture instead of a space age portal. Well done, Samsung!

In all seriousness, this TV is awesome. My wife and I were originally planning to get a 32' HDTV from another brand but was blown away when we saw this in Bestbuy.
I was checking out the TVs in the 30s and saw my wife from a distant and just looking at this one specific TV. Normally, she doesn't care about electronics but when I saw her eyes, man, it was like "Love at first sight." Kinda reminded me of the first time she saw me... To make the long story short, we got this 46'. YEAH!
This was my first major purchase on a TV and I got to tell you, IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. Every single detail was well thought of - Black/red finish, side panels, touchscreen power button, channels, volume, etc. to name a few. Mounting the TV on the wall was very easy, the screws are already provided. I love the ambient light at the bottom because when I watch movies, normally in a DIM room, my eyes hurt after a while. But with this light, it calms my eyes down. Samsung thought of everything. Since this TV has black/red finish, you can see that it collects dusts. Samsung anticipates this already so what do they do? They provided the special cloth for this specific problem. You can use this to wipe the dusts away and at the same time, it prevents scratches.
Watching movies / shows, etc. on this TV was just heaven for me and my family. After a long day of work, I pop in a bluray movie and it just takes me away. Its so crispy and clear. The clarity is unparallel. To tell you honestly, when I watch a movies, it looks like it's in 3D. That's the simplest way I can describe it. It's just PERFECT.
The only improvement that I can think of is the sound quality. Don't get me wrong, the sound is quite nice but it doesn't have the bass that I'm looking for. The good news is that, most family out there already have a sound system so my comment wouldnt even matter.
Lastly, all connection type that you can think of is there. You can use this as your computer screen, you can plug in your favorite game console, you plug in your camera using a USB connection. Pretty much you can plug in anything that you can think of and this tv DELIVERS. It's so easy to use that I didn't even need the manual for it, but it's available as well.
Samsung, keep up the good work. You guys are doing a great job. A++

Wonderful Purchase

I bought this television for my parents for Christmas. I myself have an ancient tv so this was my first HD purchase. And can I say WOW! This tv is absolutely amazing, it was a cinch to set up and everything you need comes with it. The colors and picture are perfect. I turned it on animal planet and my parent's hyper dog stopped and sat in front of the tv, mesmerized by the picture. This was a great purchase, I will definitely be coming back to buy one for myself.

Basic Feature missing on Some Inputs

I'm very satisfied with the picture quality and physical design of the set. However, I'm very disappointed with the fact that some basic functions are only available on some of the video inputs.
I have an HD cable box that requires an HDMI/DVI cable to interface with this set. With that combination cable only one input is available to the set. Unfortunately, this input doesn't support all of the functions that are found on the other inputs. Close Captioning does not work on this input, nor is the Volume Control to the External Output Speakers. These are features available to other inputs, why not this commonly used one? Disappointing, especially on a high-end model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The 120Hz is a must have! The contrast ratio makes the picture just pop. Everyone says that our TV makes things look real and that they just pop out of the screen at you. The InfoLink is interesting, not sure it offers a great deal. At least you can use it to check the forcast (although it has the wrong city name for my zip code) or check the news. There are plenty of HDMI inputs as well as standard inputs. The extra little secondary remote is nice if you just want to use the basic functions, not sure how many people would actually use it though. The only downside is that the lamp warm-up produces IR interference which prevents me from controlling my Dish Network DVR until a couple minutes have passed.

The picture says it all, WOW. TOC around the screen matches our colors is that area and looks great.
Thin design fits nicely against the wall and does not look like a big box hung there.
Word of caution, the bezel scratches VERY easily.
Setup was a piece of cake.

Outstanding Picture and Sound

I looked at numerous reviews, both by individuals and organizations (Consumer Reports, CNET, etc.) before actually looking at the TV. While the reviews were all excellent, my mind was made up when I actually compared the picture on the Samsung against other TV's.
I've had the Samsung a couple of weeks now and it is splendid. The color is vibrant and there is no jitter or other abnormality in the picture. Controls and adjustments allow you to "fine tune" the picture and sound to fit your individual preferences. It is a wonderful TV!
I would recommend this to a friend!
