As business professional I am not rough on my phones and equipment however I felt after buy such an expensive phone I wanted to be sure i protected it. After being talked into buying "the best" case for my phone I left the store thinking this is bulky but secure....though i have not had issues with the case protecting the phone. the silicon/rubber pulls apart from the plastic constantly...and attracts dust and dirt which gets under the plastic screen protector. Though its a minor annoyance it gets real old after a while. The belt clip also broke after a couple months of use, the day it broke it was only slightly bumped while on my side.
I was under the impression it would not break yet it has the same issues as many cheap cases with the belt clip.
I definatley did not feel it was worth the money.

Defender for HTC NOT same as Defender for Iphone

I bought the HTC Desire Defender based on viewing a Defender case my friend has on his Iphone.
They are no where in the same league. The material on the outside of the HTC case is soft and CONSTANTLY comes detached from the hard plastic. It is extremely annoying.
I regret paying such a high price for this case. I wish Otterbox would make a real Defender case like the Iphone version and swap this for it. I wish I had known that "Defender" does not equal "Defender" for all Otterbox cases. Think twice before ordering this one.
I am guessing this review will not make it to the website. There are probably many negative reviews that are being blocked. There is only one positive review. That speaks volumes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needs more color

I love the case but it gets too dirty under the screen protector. But over all it protects the phone well. Also I would like to see more color options for the outside gell case. I think the case would sell a lot better.
Pros: Durable
Cons: gets dirty easier

I love otterbox and wanted the best protection for my htc desire. Sadly, I have not been completely happy with this case. I have two big complaints with this case. First of all the silicone comes unattached from the sides super easy. You barely have to pull on it and it comes out of the slits it fits down into. If you pull your phone out of your pocket or purse, the silicone comes undone. It doesn't come all the way off but it is annoying to have to constantly fix it. Second, dust gets under the screen protector through the openings for the soft keys. So I find myself having to take the case off more often than I would like to clean the dust off the screen and screen protector. Maybe it would have been better to have the silicone cover the soft keys and only leave an opening for the track pad. Other than that the case is nice. I haven't dropped my phone yet but I feel like when I do it will be protected. It would be nice if it came in another color option. At least white! Something more feminine than black.

When installed the case works well to protect the phone from damage from drops or falls. However the soft outer silicone covers CONSTANTLY comes off or pulls away from the plastic case. When this happens the case does not engage the holster properly, and has fallen out several times. EVERY time I use the phone I need to reinstall some part of the silicone cover.
There needs to be a better way of attaching the outer cover, and then you'd have a real winner here.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Low quality

I was so excited to get this case because I love otterbox and I wanted the best protection for my desire. There are some annoying things about this case though. First of all the silicone on the sides of the phone comes undone way too easy. It just won't stay down in the slots it tucks into. Second of all, dust gets under the screen protector through the openings for the soft keys. I think maybe it would have been better to bring the silicone over the soft keys and just have an opening for the track pad. Other than that the case is great! I just wish it came in another color besides black. I think every case should have a white and black option at least.
Pros: High quality, Durable
Cons: not the best design

Best Phone Case Available

Bad News:
1.Screen protector does not work well with "3rd Party" Invisible Shield Screen Protector(baby powder solution did not help). Solution: remove the screen protector(only recommended if you intend to use another from of screen protection.)
2. Case becomes slightly warped with "3rd Party" Full Body Maximum Coverage phone protection(the case does not snap together properly(in my case only in one spot)). Solution: Insert a small piece of paper towel where needed.
3. Silicone outer case could be better secured to the plastic case. The silicone case is secured in two ways: 1. the plastic "pegs" visible through the silicone case on the sides, bottom and top( the top "peg" is the headphone opening) 2. Three "lips" positioned on the top and sides of the case. The "pegs" insure that the silicone case never comes completely off the plastic case, while the "lips" hold the the silicone case firmly to the plastic case. Occasionally the silicone case will slip out of the "lips" on the plastic case, however the silicone case will never completely come off.

Good News:
Other than the three minor cons listed above the OtterBox Defender Series case is the best mobile phone case available for the HTC Desire. Having had the case for almost a month now, I have no other complaints than the three minor cons. The case looks great and feels extremely sturdy. The belt clip works very well at holding the phone in place. The volume and power buttons work seamlessly. The back of the silicone case has enough grip that it won't easily slip out of your hand, yet is slick enough to effortlessly put in and pull out of your pocket. Micro usb cover has an extremely tight fit, keeping out unwanted debris. And the camera is protected by a piece of clear plastic.
Other than the three minor cons listed above the OtterBox Defender Series case is the best mobile phone case available for the HTC Desire. *Why the use of the Invisible Shield Full Body Maximum Coverage? While mostly unnecessary with use of the OtterBox Defender Series case. I plan on keeping my phone for the remainder of my two year contract with my wireless provider and both options help me sleep better at night knowing that my phone is completely protected.
Pros: High quality, Durable, look, feel

Awesome case but not all there

I was so excited to get this case esp where I don't have insurance on my phone I want the best protection that money can buy. I put the case together and fell in love with it. After a few hours I found that there was some dust underneath the built in screen protector. I must say this bothers me a lot because I have to keep taking it apart to clean it and put it back together. I've had the Otterbox for the HTC Desire for about a week now and I find myself having to take the case off daily just to clean it. I would have given this case 5 stars if I didn't have to deal with this. PLEASE fix this problem by coming out with a new defender case. Other then that decent design.

Cons: too much dust gets under the screen protector
