Excellent choice

Love the hi def and set's light weight for a 40" screen. Sound is very good but the volume control (remote) has a less than useful icon on screen to show sound level. A slot for SD cards would have been nice but overall, the TV is providing more than anticipated value. Thanks for a great set.
Pros: fast screen refresh
Cons: volume icon

Great picture and product

The TV sound could be enhanced as a stand alone sysem. I have surround sound componets so that is not an issue with me. Can't imagine anyone buying a TV like this without having a sound system.
Need more apps. The Netflix feature is awesome. Twitter does not matter. Music app is ok except I don't use it much with so much music to choose from on the cable system.
Need more apps for TV programming. I would be willing to pay for these.
I have had issues connecting my laptop wireless to the TV. I've tried it a couple of time and find it inconvient. Not a stopper for me

Love this TV

I've had this tv for a year and it never gets old. It's great having the internet capabilities so that if I feel like watching Netflix or Vudu, I can, and I don't need another box running into the tv. And as an avid gamer, it's always fun playing whatever games on this tv.
Pros: great construction, great value, good additional components

Good but has some flaws

I am not sure if this TV is still being sold as the one I have is about 2 years old.
The picture and sound quality are acceptable. The unit works well with the HDMI inputs and I like that it came with a wireless USB.
The flaws include:
Startup takes way too long. At first I was not sure if I had actually pressed the on/off switch.
The NET TV picture on the front page is wholly misleading. The available online features are limited to only to Netflixx, VUDU vtuner and twitter. The latter two do not really count. Worst of all, there has not been any software update for the entire time, so don't expect anything like is shown on net tv.
The Netflixx interface is the worst of any I have seen.

After having a rear projection screen TV, The Phillips HD is amazing. Having all the options and the NetFlixs on demand is great.
