This is how a phone should be designed

I don't work in extreme environments, but I wanted a phone that I could take anywhere life goes without having to worry about damaging my phone. I was at dinner recently with some friends and just dropped the phone in a glass of water to test out the "water resistance" of the device and have had zero problems. This is the type of phone I can take on hikes, to the beach, to the lake, or to outdoor events without having to worry if it rains or dropping in shallow water. To me, I believe I'll be able to capture more memories on camera than devices I would normally leave behind. I've seen the reviews where the camera isn't good, but for a phone it seems to work just fine. If you want great pictures, bring a camera & not a cell phone. I use gmail and exchange and this phone performs great for both. The sound quality is good for phone calls and the speakers sound great for such a small phone. This phone is priced just right & was priced well below some of the most popular phones. And I didn't have to buy a case! All I purchased was a screen protector. Even though it's slightly chunkier than my previous phone, the fact it doesn't have a case makes it smaller and fits better in my pocket. I also believe phones are getting too big. Regarding the battery. I've had this phone for a couple of weeks and the batter is between 30% and 70% charge at the end of the day, depends on the amount of data that has been downloaded and how much talking I've done during the day. The battery is about as good as any phone I've owned before. To me this phone and it's screen size is perfect. Overall this is a great phone for work and play, indoors and outdoors, in controlled and extreme environments.

I got this a week ago and so far it has been good to me going from an iphone to something durable that I don't have to worry about getting water, salt fog, or dropping it. but it has to much junk apps that all they do is consume resources, and storage att should give customers a way to remove them, this is a grown up man phone not a kids iphone. but the battery, and the bloatware kills it for me but over all this is a superb phone with out the bloatware, and a bit more life out of the battery.

Durable. Loud. Pretty much as advertised. The battery life is better than the iphone by far but still not great. It might be better if I could remove, or at least disable all(any?)of these stupid apps. Overall I would say this is a very good phone for this price.

No text alerts work

Bought phone when it first came out. Problems with it alerting to text messages. Set volume high but no alerts most of the time.
Voice mail screen goes black so it is difficult to enter command keys.
Accidently hit phone book numbers and it will not allow me cancel accidently called phone book numbers, so I have to shut off the phone to stop it.
Hard to answer calls, hit "Answer" icon numerous times to answer a call.
Phone needs some serious software upgrading. Plan on returning this phone as it is too unreliable for my work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Note 2 Replacement

I dropped my Note 2 from waist height and the glass & LCD were both destroyed. during the two years of owning the phone, I was always on edge of breaking it. Whether by dropping it or sitting on the giant screen in by back pocket. So, when it cam time to get a new one, I decided to go rugged. Originally was going to get the S5 Active, but then seen the Kyocera and gave it a shot. To date, I am not disappointed! I use it for work, primarily but it's ran all day. The battery lasts until late evening which is perfect for me. The camera is not as good as the Samsung, but I have a digital SLR for those needs. I've dropped this phone, gotten it wet and dirty and it just keeps working. I even now play my favorite tunes while in the shower. The novelty of the large phone (Note series) wore off so the size of this phone is perfect. Just don't cover the mic up when talking (holding the phone with my left hand to my right ear) as you won't be heard due to the unidirectional microphone. This phone has been a work horse for me and exactly what I needed without an additional case. I think I will test it out at the water park this coming summer!

I bought this phone about 3 weeks ago and was looking for something that I could hear in my work environment....I think I found it...I work in the elements...and a dusty, noisy environment...this phone works well.....it fits the hand nicely...little heavy ...but to be expected with the larger battery.....With the noise level at my job I can hear my texts as before I had the galaxy s5 active...I couldn't hear it at all....the quality of calls is great...I can hear clearly don't have to walk so far away from my work just to hear someone talking to me....as well they can hear me just fine too.....even in the noisy background......I haven't had any issues of the battery not lasting....im a heavy user texting and it lasts all day and most of the night...It works great as far as speed goes for me...I don't use it much other than texting.....as far as dunking in water or dropping it....hasn't happened...but im sure with time it will....but for me ...this phone works great!

The workin' Man's phone!

I bought this for my husband who up until now refused to give up his 8 year old Rugby flip phone! He works in the harsh Alaskan climate all day and needed a phone that could handle all that he does out doors and in. This phone is truly made for the man who's always on the go and rough on equipment.
