The instruction has a QR code to download the Netgear app which will then walk you through the installation step by step. I have done it all by myself with no issues. It's working pretty good 👍

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was searching for a router for my mom and I knew absolutely nothing about them but that I didn't need to do fancy things. I did some research and chose three different ones online to pick up in the store so that I could see which one that the Best Buy employee recommended most from my choices of affordable ones. I chose two TP routers and one Netgear because of their reviews. I have had Netgear in the past and have liked their products but I was willing to try something different if it was better technology. When I showed the employee the three that I had chosen he immediately went to the Netgear as his first choice because of quality, features, and endurance without breakdowns or problems. You can just install it and almost never have to worry about it again until you need a new one because of necessary updates in technology. I personally chose the Netgear first because it had a good rating, was compatible with Spectrum Internet, and was on sale for my moms budget. I am a dummy when it comes to electronics so I was a little stressed that it would be hard and complicated. Thank God it wasn't! I followed the easy instructions. I downloaded the app. I got the Internet up and running within minutes. I love the app! It has a lot of great features and the process also registered my router at the same time. The password was easy to set up. I love the ability to quickly check my Internet speed and how it has a special feature already installed for daily safety checks. The app has more things that I probably will ever use, but just knowing that I have it there to use and that I can easily get help there brings peace. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

Easy setup working well but beware of auto enroll

I setup this new router in about an hour. Turned out to be quite easy. I then repurposed my old NetGear router as an access point to extend wireless capability around my home. Still working great after a week or so. Next step will be to make a couple of tweaks but so far, so good. Taking off 1 star for Netgear auto enrolling me in NetGear Armor and then making me unsubscribe to auto renewal. I do NOT like that business model.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Got rid of the bottleneck

I finally upgraded my 2019 Nighthawk router to the RS100, and I was skeptical at first. However, the transition was seamless, easy, and quick. My speeds went from 170 mbps to 1060 Mbps just because my old router was bottlenecking the internet speeds from the capabilities of my provider. I highly recommend, if you are on the fence. It will make a difference and you will enjoy faster speeds. - PK

I just setup the Nighthawk WiFi 7 RS500 Router replacing my older R7960P - Nighthawk X6S AC3600 Tri-Band WiFi Router after being notified that firmware service updates for it had ended. My older router was working just fine but I replaced it so I can maintain the latest firmware updates.
The Nighthawk App setup program walked me through the process, and made it very easy to setup the new router. Can't say anything about the performance and longevity just yet as I just set it up, but based upon my older router, I am hopeful it will provide the same level of service I enjoyed with the old router.
