I had a great Netgear Router before, but as usual, Netgear doesn't disappoint. Great product, radio setup for regular use and my Netgear extenders.

Keep in mind the coverage is not for the square footage of say your home and each wall or door takes away the coverage area. I had previously had 2 other nighthawk routers that they decided to discontinue updates for so I made the switch for security reasons but I miss my old outdated setup. This one has poor coverage area, struggles to keep consistent connections and does not automatically switch to high and low speed as its stated to do.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This Nighthawk router is a great one if you want the 3 network bands(2.4, 5.0, 6.0). The only thing that I had contacted Netgear on was the Parental Controls. Previous routers I've gotten from Netgear did have Parent Controls but they were built into the router and there was no subscription or extra fees for it. For some reason or another, Netgear decided this feature needed a price tag. I'm not a fan of companies charging parents fees for keeping tabs on their children's online activity. Companies are always inciting how parents need to be more involved with their children's online time. But when a company wants to put more added fees into a families already stretched budget, that's when people decide to turn away from that company and go with a different one. Netgear really should backpedal on this fee and give that option back into the hands of the parents.
