[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While the Nighthawk is working as it should. I believe it’s not any faster than the last Netgear WiFi system we had. Also I do not like the fact that you have to pay extra for services like parental controls and upgrades in privacy that elsewhere I can get free. I think next time I will have to shop other places to upgrade my home WiFi network

The install was easy and fast. I used the UC code to download the steps and it was easy to follow. This is our 2nd Netgear router. Only switched because our 1st one was past regular security updates.

This router is replacing an older model that you made me replace. It's a mystery how the new router is slower than death while the old one which has the same settings and capacity was running just fine.

Good product - but I would have been happier to keep my old one. The only reason I bought this router was because my old one was no longer supported with updates. This new one, while more capable on paper, doesn't provide any real-world improvements over the older model I had. I would have been much happier if Netgear had just kept supporting my old router.

Great router, unless the U.S. government forbids its upgrade next year

I really like the speed and features of my new RS700S router. However, if the U.S. government forbids it being updated after 2027 merely because it was made in Viet Nam, I'll become very unhappy, as my entire reason for upgrading was that my previous Nighthawk router will no longer receive updates after May of this year, and I chose the top of the line RS700S precisely to make sure that doesn't happen again any time soon. So the government "news" about ending upgrades on any router not made in the U.S. is a huge bummer.
