Random drops and random band selections. My previous Netgear router performed more reliably. Skipped the horrible installation software and used the standard IP Gateway for setting everything up. That has improved but not by much. Netgear is just outdated and way overpriced.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This router boosts your internet range and speed so fast I noticed a huge difference from spectrum it is worth it and pays for itself.. I work from home 4k streaming and gaming plus 6 cameras around the house no more lagging or buffering! This is what you want!!!!

It’s OK, not as good as I thought it was going to be

I upgraded our last Nighthawk router with this one as it’s supposed to cover more square footage.
I got one that should cover at least 2000 ft.², and my house is only 1600 ft.². I still have issues with low signal strength towards the back of my house. That also could be where the router is located however, that is the only place that I can put it as it’s connected to my computer.
For the price, I guess it’s worth it. Almost wish I would’ve ordered the next one up. However, it is better than my last one. I didn’t really do a whole lot of researching on router and pricing, so I can only assume that it’s probably in line with others on pricing. I really wanted to just stay with what we had versus starting all over with something different. We never had any issues with our other router, other than low signal strength towards the back of the house, Even with the Wi-Fi booster. Again it is better with this one, but not as good as I thought it was going to be.
It was super easy to install. I just basically unplugged the other one, plugged this one in and followed the prompts and it was all set up in less than 10 minutes.

We purchased a new router from Best Buy recently. It has been working great and we were able, with some assistance, to connect all of our devices to the new router. If you are looking for a new router consider shopping at Best Buy!!

Have bought Linksys for home for years, but always used Netgear at office. When the one at home went out in less than two years I decided to go with Netgear because I never have problems with the one at work and they last forever!! It was super easy to set up and everything is running faster. The app on my phone walked me thru and I love the info I have access to on it. Highly recommend!
