Last router kept removing accessories from my Home app about twice a week and made it very difficult to reconnect. So far Nighthawk seems quite HomeKit friendly with remarkably easy accessory adds and no disconnect yet. Had it about a month now.

Antennae are internal to router so not flailing about like on previous nighthawk routers and not getting chewed on by cat. Range seems good. MIMO setting needed to be disabled in order to get good range. Throughput seems excellent. Netgear app leaves much to be desired. The browser interface is a bit buried but lets you get things done.

We previously had the Nighthawk router AC3000. We received information that it would no longer be supported so we thought time for upgrade. We went for a router that supposedly had better coverage for the house, but no, there are fewer bars of service than with the old router and “dead spots” where the old router had full coverage.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The installation process was challenging and frustrating. I followed the installation directions, but initially Netgear could not "find" the router. After three hours of frustration, I reinstalled the old router, which worked fine with the new modem. The next day, I started again. This time, Netgear "found" the router, everything looked good, but my devices were not connected. I called Xfinity, but that resulted in the circle of death. I'm not sure what finally worked, but Netgear and Xfinity seemed to do what they were supposed to do, and I was able to access my devices. Last note: Changing the network name and password was not easy. Logging into the router raised red flags on Firefox. I used my Android phone to access the router, and dealt with the teeny font in order to change the password and network name. No instructions, I took a shot and it paid off. I am not a tech person, I am a person who prefers not to call for tech help. I do believe the process could have been easier, or instructions more explicit. That being said, I am very happy with the router, it works well in our 3500 + square foot home, where we stream shows on TV and play games on our PCs.
