I bought this as a birthday present for my special-needs nephew, who is 12. He was mesmerized the moment it came out of the box! He and his 6-year-old sister both immediately began to build things. The magnetic connection and the large pieces made it easy for him to use with his limited motor skills, while she was entranced by the beautiful colors and the endless possibilities for building. They were able to play together, even with their differing abilities. It is very difficult to find toys that will capture his attention and this was definitely a hit! My only complaint is that while the storage bag that comes with is a great touch, it is too small to comfortably hold all of the pieces. Another couple of inches all around and perhaps a sturdier material would be nice.

We tested these side by side with our expensive brand name set and they performed equally well. The magnets are strong and all the pieces coordinate with our existing sets. For the price, they can't be beat. I debated taking a chance on this set and am so glad I did! So many ways to build with these - they're always a favorite in our house.
