The basic microwave functions are fine. I bought a Panasonic because they are some of the only models without the annoying 'Express Cook' feature. That said, there are a couple of disappointments with this. First, the clock display turns off about a minute after you close the door (and it beeps). It's a power saving 'feature' and can't be overridden by any key combination. You CAN defeat it by simply leaving the door open. Contrary to the first photo on the product page here, the display is not green, but harsh white. I partly bought it based on the belief that it had a green display. Lastly, the infuriating door safety lock should default to OFF. The disable procedure in the manual (pressing 'off/reset' three times) does not work. There is a sticker on the door with the correct procedure, although it took trying it twice until it worked. This is a beautiful oven, but I would gladly trade it for my simple old Daewoo if its keypad had not died.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi James! Thank you for the thoughtful review. We’re glad the everyday microwave functions are working well, and we understand the clock/display timeout, display color, and door lock behavior can be frustrating. In many regions, the power‑saving display and door lock features are required to meet legal safety/energy regulations, so they aren’t always adjustable. We also appreciate the note about the listing photo versus the actual display color, and the confusion between the manual instructions and the door sticker, feedback like this helps improve both product pages and documentation.
