Great Rice Cooker/Steamer for Large Quantiy of Rice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first experience with a rice cooker I ever use, and I’m amazed at how well it cooked the rice. First off, I must start out saying that this 30 cup rice cooker is for a large family or group of people. Even using the smallest amount of rice, 4 cups, it made a large quantity of rice for my family, which is only my wife and I. It’s very easy to use, and the cooking time was about 20 minutes. I followed the suggestions it to let it rest after cooking, leaving the warm button on. That may have been a mistake due to the fact the rice on the bottom of the pan started browning, but not bad. The rice was was cooked fluffy and done to my satisfaction, but it doesn’t seem like the rice you would get at an oriental restaurant where it doesn’t seem to stick together as much. I’m also comparing this to the minute rice, which is what we usually have. I used for the first time Mahatta rice, using 4 cups of rice and filling the cooking pot up with water to the line 4 for the amount of rice used. There are different lines on the cooking pot for the different quantities, up to 15 cups of rice, after filling it to the correct level with water, putting the lid on and plugging it into an outlet,the warm amber light comes on, you need to turn the cook switch light on, getting the red light. I timed the cooking of this rice and the rice cooker took 20 minutes to complete before switching automatically back warm amber light. This is where I may have went wrong. The instructions say to let the rest let the rice rest for 15 minutes, but you may need to unplug it so it doesn’t continue to cook.
In conclusion the Hamilton Beach Rice Cooker Steamer is a great addition to the kitchen. It’s about the size of a large crockpot, lightweight and well made. It comes with a plastic steamer basket with a basket divider, a correct measuring cup, which is used in the rice industry, and a rice paddle. In my opinion, as I said earlier, this rice cooker would be great for a large family, a group of people, although if you like a lot of rice, this rice cooker is for you.

Cut cooking in half

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No noise no and not too much steam ! Super easy to assemble and clean and put up into your storage . It’s easy to cook and makes the best rice and steamed food on top cutting making meals in half ! 100/10 for me !

Convenient 2 in 1

It took some adjustment to find the measurement balance of rice to water, but now its good. Also, the instructions doesnt state how long it takes, but I am telling you its pretty fast in comparison to boiling rice. One button does it all. So easy I was questioning if it was done right. Not to mention the ability to steam veggies at the very same time. This busy mama appreciates being able to provide a nice cooked meal not compromising the taste cutting down the time.

Awesome rice cooker and food steamer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m really impressed with this rice cooker! It cooks rice evenly and automatically switches to warm, which makes meal prep so easy. I also love the steamer basket because I can cook vegetables while the rice is cooking. The large capacity is perfect for family meals or batch cooking, and cleanup is quick. Highly recommend!

Set it and forget it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is lightweight and easy to clean. I have not tried to make more than two cups at a time but it holds quite a bit. We eat rice at least three times a week so this is definitely cut down on how many hours I spend in the kitchen cooking rice. For two cups of rice and four cups of water it takes roughly 20 minutes to cook the rice.

Steaming veggies without any hassle!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The rice cooker is very easy to use. I will have to get used to rice to water ratio, but once I do that it will get better. We used it to steam homemade Chinese dumplings which is the main reason I wanted it. They turned out perfect. Will be great during the holidays for steaming veggies without taking up burner space on the stove. Definitely worth the money if you make large batches of rice. It is very easy to clean.

Perfect Fluffy Rice!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach 30 Cup Rice Cooker has made our weeknight meals and meal prep such a breeze! It handles a large capacity so I can make enough rice for 5 lunches for both my husband and I in one batch. I love that I can “set it and forget it”. I add my rice and water, flip the switch, and go on to finish my other cooking. It automatically switches to a “warm” setting when it is complete which is perfect for busy families. The steamer basket is great to add a side of veggies easily. Lastly, my favorite part of this appliance is that it is all dishwasher safe. When I am done cooking, I can put it all in the dishwasher to save even more time. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because it will overcook the rice at times leaving crusty rice at the bottom.

Cooks quickly and completely

It is so simple to use,just measure out your rice,add water, and turn on. The cooker does the rest, and after it has cooked the rice, it automatically turns itself to the warm cycle. It is best to put it on a space where the steam won't damage anything as it cooks. It comes with a measuring cup,paddle for to fluff rice after done, and a steamer tray for vegetables with divider.
