Need an older type filter for an older model OB24
on October 15, 2026

I bought my filter quite a while ago but put it up as I went on a flavored water choice. When I pulled out my refrigerator model - not a pitcher, and bought the Elite filter, I realized something was drastically wrong! The bottom was not in a "plus sign" like my dispenser is!
Model #OB24

Tastes bad
on September 4, 2026

Perhaps it is filtering the water, which is great, but it makes the water taste like paint water. When i first pour my glass of cold water it tastes fine, but after sitting out for 20 minutes it starts to taste like paint was mixed in or some kind of chemical. Absolutely awful. I’ve used off brand filters for my brita pitcher and it does not make the same taste so it has to be the brita filter that is doing this. Please fix whatever is causing the taste because it’s awful and I feel like I shouldn’t be drinking it.

Thank you for reviewing our Brita Standard Filter. While our filters reduce 95% of chlorine, the taste of filtered water can vary based on your local tap water composition, which may change due to seasonal factors or disinfectant levels. We apologize for any unpleasant taste and would like to help. Please call us at 800-242-7482 and mention ref# 260916-000213. We hope to speak with you.

Necessity these days.

The pitcher i have was my Grandmother's she bought years ago and us family teased her. Few months ago my sister in-law and I had to go to our doctor's with severe stomach pain. Two separate doctors gave same diagnosis, that it was the tap water we were drinking has toxins intended to sterilize the water but are harmful to humans. Both doctors recommended drink bottled water and/or use a filtering system.
I just found my Grandmother's pitcher now looking for the filters for it.

I love my Britta pitcher, we always have fresh cold water in the fridge. I even use it for the kids animals, taste so much better than tap. And saves money by not having to purchase plastic bottles of water!

Lead removal information lacking
on February 7, 2026
Posted by: AuntieScientist
I live in Denver, CO in a building that has not had the pipes replaced for lead removal. The city of Denver has been sending me Brita filters for a couple of years now, as a solution to removing lead from the water. Now that I am checking to make sure that this filter works to remove lead, I am finding nothing. Does this mean the filter does nothing for lead removal? I am annoyed at the lack of available information. There is nothing about lead - yes or no, just radio silence. I will buy the elite filter myself, if I need to do this. Someone needs to explain this to the city of Denver though.

Thank you for contacting us, and we're sorry to hear that our Original Filters let you down. Our Original Filters are effective at reducing chlorine for taste and odor, as well as copper, cadmium, and mercury in tap water, but they don't remove lead. We recommend giving our Elite Filter a try. It reduces contaminants, including 99% of lead, chlorine (taste and odor), cadmium, mercury, Class I particulates, asbestos, and benzene. If you'd like to learn more, please call us at 800-242-7482 with #260212-000530. We're here to help.
