Galaxy Watch 8: A Year Later, I'm Not Sold

I wore the Galaxy Watch 8 for a full year, and the shine wore off a lot faster than I expected. On paper it looks like a great smartwatch, but daily life exposed some real problems.
The biggest letdown is water resistance. Samsung markets this thing as water-ready, but over the year I owned it, it never felt like it could handle the real world. Rain, sweat, showers, and the occasional splash all felt like a gamble. A watch you have to baby around water defeats the purpose of a fitness-focused wearable, and it left me taking it off more often than I should have.
The biggest letdown is water resistance. Samsung markets this thing as water-ready, but over the year I owned it, it never felt like it could handle the real world. The watch stopped working on me and I sent it in UNDER WARRANTY and they said "well it has water damage so we cant help you with a repair or a replacement"....Couldn't believe it.
Then there's battery life, which just isn't great. It gets you through a day, but I was charging it constantly, and it only got worse as the months went on. Sleep tracking is one of the watch's selling points, but it's tough to use when you're forced to charge it every night or the next.
The Watch 8 has nice features, a sleek design, and solid software, but the basics should come first. Durability, visibility, and battery are what matter most in a smartwatch, and this one fell short on all three.
Verdict: 2.5/5. Look elsewhere unless you're deep in the Samsung ecosystem.

I chose this for functionality

Works great and helps to find my phone when I set it down somewhere. Able to change face style and has apps that help out a lot. One being the step counter and heart rate monitor.

Love this watch!

(Chemotherapy and radiation) So it helps keep track of myself medically. Then in case of an accident whether it's a car accident or fall my watch will call my programed in case of emergency numbers Battery life last more than 24hrs only complaint is one to be waterproof than perfect!!!
