My First Foldable, and I’m Never Going Back!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was hesitant to switch to a foldable, but the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra blew away my doubts. Coming from traditional slab phones, it feels like stepping straight into the future.
My biggest worry was bulk, but it’s surprisingly slim and pocketable. The cover screen works like a normal flagship phone for quick texts, but unfolding that massive 8-inch main display is pure magic. The crease is barely noticeable, battery lasts a normal day, and the 200 MP rear camera delivers nice pictures.
That said, there is still room for improvement. For an "Ultra" flagship, I wish the front selfie cameras were sharper. App scaling and control also have quirks, I'm not sure if it’s on Samsung or app developers, but on WhatsApp video calls, when unfolded, the other person appears way too zoomed in (yet looks completely normal when folded), and there's no way to adjust it. Plus, if I want to zoom in to show something using my camera, it won't let me. More granular app controls would go a long way.
Even with those minor gripes, the multitasking, gorgeous screen, and overall hardware make it worth every penny. If you’ve been on the fence about getting your first foldable, this is the one!
I chose Z Fold 8 Ultra over any other phone!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had the Z Folds since the 3rd generation, it been interesting watching each years improvements. The 8 Ultra isn't much of a change from the Fold 7 - I mainly wanted the better battery, the increased brightness, faster chip, camera upgrade and screen changes were all minor extras. Enjoying it though - excited to see what the 9 Fold will being next year.

Samsung Z Fold 8 Ultra for a Cruise

I needed a phone that would take excellent pictures and that I could use as a small tablet aboard the cruise liner and on shore tours.

I chose to welcome the new edition to the Family. I Love the screen size, because it looks like a mini iPad or tablet. I Love streaming movies on it with Netflix, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. I am so Loving My new phone!
