I was excited about this laptop but was ultimately disappointed. Aside from very intense fan noise on under average loads, the laptop would make a very high pitched sound when the fans were on, our entire office could hear it. I am unsure if it was a specific defect, or if such whirring is expected. Like a constant cicada inside the laptop.
A note to designers. I had previously ordered the OLED model, with the obligatory touch functionality, but something about the touch screen makes whites seem darker, there is a tiny grid over everything, particularly noticeable on lighter colors. Like an insect screen. I returned that and ordered the EPS screen, which has the whirring in question (I am unsure if the other one had the same).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
