I gave this laptop 4 stars because it wasn’t running well right out of the box. The high-resolution screen was blurry even though the resolution was set correctly, the trackpad was hard to use and Microsoft Excel, which came pre-installed, was laggy and kept crashing. I tried Windows and Office repairs and debugging on the Microsoft site without success. It was only after reformatting the computer and doing a clean install of Windows and Office that the computer started working like I expected it to. The screen resolution is now perfectly clear and there is no lag or crashing, and I have every reason to think I’ll be happy with its performance for a long time to come.

Horrible flicker on brand new device, poor support

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Horrible flicker straight out of the box on brand new Thinkpad P1 Gen 7, making it completely unusable. Unacceptable for a premium device that coasts thousands of dollars. I am a Lenovo fanboy for decades pushing friends, family, colleagues to purchase Lenovo and am very disappointed with Lenovo at the poor-quality control.
Everything is updated, drivers, OS updates, BIOS.
Am trying to get Lenovo to get resolution and so far not impressed with speed or quality of support either. They make you run around and so far the support experience not great either.
After research, I hear that display flicker is a known issue with Lenovo which is doubly disappointing that Lenovo hasn't fixed this.
I have been purchasing Lenovo for decades, but this may be the last device I purchase and am going to stop recommending Lenovo to everyone.
