[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you are getting a workstation, you already know the price point vs specs. Overall this one is fine, but not $5000 fine. So I'd recommend waiting for a sale.
As expected per specs. Runs well, cooling is fine- Not impressively so, but with a cooling pad underneath it doesn't run too hot after strenuous use. However, Wifi sometimes doesn't connect and only restarting fixes it. Security feature is good- also expected of a workstation, but the fingerprint reader isn't the most accurate.
Camera shutter indication turns red when it hides the camera, which is counterintuitive. Microphone key glows when it's muted- All of these are questionable design features.
Not a full keyboard so you want to make sure if that's something you like/don't mind. For my use it's fine. All important keys and shortcuts are there, just not an individual numpad.
Touch pad is a bit too wide for my liking, originally it disrupted my typing. However, that's a 'getting used to the new keyboard' thing. After using it for a bit, that issue no longer happens.
Overall fine for its intended purpose.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

TP P1 Gen7, Great machine, but issues w/mouse disc
on January 30, 2025

Great piece of machine , is fast, powerful and very light which makes it appropriate to carry all the time. The only thing is that for this new machine the Lenovo mouse keeps disconnecting after I step away from the laptop for a few minutes, and also when I close the laptop. I have to all the time turn-off and on the Bluetooth on the pc, then press the button on mouse to re-install it into the laptop again, this is EVERY time, and is getting very annoy, if you could help in this matter it will be greatly appreciated, regards

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my P1G7, it doesn't have the same overheating issues that G6 did, with great battery life, and the OLED screen is amazing! LPCAMM2 means that the LPDDR5X is replaceable and I love that it has 2 m.2 NVME slots for storage.

It runs hot, and loud.

Laptop runs hot, therefore fan is often on, and it's loud. The nVidia GPU was always at 0%, and I had to do research online on how to put it work. Fan runs even more now. My bluetooth mouse keeps disconnecting after the laptop goes into sleep mode, and I have to turn laptop's bluetooth on & off to make it work again. Otherwise, good quality build. Good screen.
