3-Tier Electric Food Steamer . . . WOW

I sure didn’t expect this high level of performance from it.
The Hamilton Beach 3-Tier Electric Food Steamer is AMAZING.
We loaded the steamer completely full with small potatoes, carrots, parsnips, broccoli, and a fish fillet.
Filled the water level to max and ran it for 40 minutes. Everything came out tender and full of flavor. AND, there was no shared flavor between the different foods. The drip tray keeps the steam water nice and clean so there is no need to clean the base every time you use it. The rest is very easy to clean. All the pieces can go on the top shelf of your dishwasher. However, we don’t have a dishwasher, other than me, and the pieces were very easy to wash by hand. We now plan our meals in an effort to find something to cook in our steamer. Absolutely NO regrets on this electric steamer.
Do yourself a favor and make meal preparations easier with the purchase of this Hamilton Beach 3-Tier Electric Food Steamer. Go ahead, get one. You’ll thank me later.

Loving the new product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the product that I received. It is very convenient and works exactly how its supposed to per the directions. The only thing that I wasn't 100% pleased about is that it says that you can cook rice in it but it doesnt tell you how much water to add with the rice. I was afraid that I didnt put enough in the container but I did thankfully. Some added directions for such things as rice would be great, I didnt see it when reading the directions. The directions were self explanitory too which was nice and made it easy to use

I was able to steam three different vegetables without the flavors combining which made the grandchildren so very happy, As each one likes their own a certain way. This made prepping family dinners so much easier. Easy to use, to clean when done using. It’s lightweight and looks great on my counter

Basic tiered steamer that cooks beautifully

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The steamer has plenty of holes in each tray and food cooks beautifully. I’ve tried baby potatoes, vegetables, fish, and eggs so far. Everything has come out great using the suggested time that’s printed on the base of the steamer which is convenient. The components are lightweight plastic and easy to carry and clean which makes it more convenient than steaming in a big pot on the stove. Included with the 3 plastic trays that can be stacked, is a small black bowl for making rice. Instead, I use that bowl to steam fish where I want the juices to collect in it and not drip away. The bowl is rather small so it won’t fit a whole rock fish or something which is unfortunate. Due to the rectangle shape of the trays, I would need an oval or rectangular large bowl to steam fish Chinese style and I do not own anything like that currently. It would be nice if Hamilton Beaxh would include one as an accessory. Another inconvenience is that the tiers can only be stacked and nested on top of each other in a specific order that is clearly labeled on the handles. However, the instructions say all raw
Meat must go on the bottom tier. If you are steaming potatoes at the same time and put them on top in the second tier, the fish or meat will be done in 10 min while the potatoes need 25 minutes. You cannot put the second tier tray on the bottom to start cooking first with plans to add the meat tray later, it won’t fit. So what I had to do was put the bottom tray on the base empty, then the tray with potatoes on top and start the timer for 25 min. 15 min into cooking, I lifted the lid and 2nd tray and placed the black bowl with fish into the empty tray on the bottom. It’s a huge hassle because you are now releasing a ton of hot steam everywhere and frantically trying to do it as fast as you can. While it’s nice the trays are different sized so you can nest them for storage it would be so much easier to use if each tray could fit on the bottom base and be interchangeable. That is my biggest complaint and why I rated this appliance 4 stars instead of 5. Once you set the manual timer, the steam starts almost immediately and is very even and efficient so despite the limitations with the trays I will continue to use it regularly. The dial that sets the timer is like an old fashioned kitchen timer with the same feel and ding at the end. The drawback is that the numbers and print on the black dial is quite small so it may be difficult for people with bad eyesight to see the numbers without glasses and a bright light to shine on it. I would like to see a bigger and clearer dial. Another drawback is that a recipe book was not included. I think this appliance is perfect who already know how to steam food and have a clear idea of what they want to use it for. I love the convenience of steaming an entire bag (1.5 lbs) of baby potatoes in a tray all at once! It’s very light to store and wash as well so it is easy for my mom to use and wash as well and she is almost 80 years old.

Meal prep

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product has been great for meal prepping. I have been using it every Sunday to make my meals for the week. I love that it can boil eggs because I eat eggs daily. I also used it a recent family potluck. I haven’t used it for rice yet but I will be doing that soon. I plan to get one for my mother.

Multi-Basket Steamer

It would be great for someone with limited kitchen space who wanted to cook a healthy meal at home. It steams buns great without them getting soggy like some steamers do. It has an easy to read water level indicator.

The steamer is great for anything, not just vegetables, I also did eggs and they turned out great and easy to peel as well. It makes my vegetables have a better taste to them , but what is the best is that I can make 3 different things at one time .

Easy to use, healthy meal prep tool!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was not familiar with using a food steamer prior to testing this one. I tried a simple meal for my first time. Chicken breasts and broccoli. Following the instructions were easy. The meal was done in less than 30 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! I seasoned the chicken with some basic herbs and kept the broccoli plain. Clean up was a breeze. My only complaint is storage. It’s not the smallest and there’s no way to keep the trays affixed to the base. Not a huge problem, but, could be for someone with limited cabinet space. I’ve not tried many new things in the steamer. But, I am finding it easy to meal prep with this unit.
