I've been eyeing this set for a year now and finally pulled the trigger on it. Love them! The craftsmanship of them are amazing. They're not to light nor too heavy. The cut through thick cuts of steak perfectly. Can not go wrong with these!
Love the sleek design and heaviness of the knife. I had always had cheap set prior with plastic handles. After purchasing these, I'll never skip on quality again.
I recommend these steak knives, with the caveat that I have only used them for a few dinners so far.
They are sharp. We have cut steak and country ham with them, and they handled both with no trouble. The blades are 4 inches and half serrated. The half toward the tip is serrated, and the half closest to the handle is smooth. The serrated section did the work on our steak and ham, and it did it very well.
The look surprised me. At first glance, these could pass for butter knives, with a gentle, dressy appearance. Do not let that fool you. They cut like proper steak knives.
The handles feel really good in the hand. I found them comfortable and well balanced, and I had no urge to swap them for something else at the table. So far, they also seem fine on our plates.
For care, I have been washing them by hand. The product listing says they are dishwasher safe, but I haven't tried that yet, so I can't tell you how they hold up in the machine.
The set comes in a nice wood gift box, which I like. We store ours in a cabinet, but the box would work well for gifting or for a drawer.
Here is what I can't tell you. I haven't owned these long enough to judge how well the edge holds up over months of use, and I don't have a good comparison to other steak knives. Other Zwilling knives I have used have held their edge well, which is encouraging, but that doesn't prove this set. I bought mine on sale, so my value impression reflects that price.
