I’ve been baking on a weekly basis for over 50 years, this mixer surpasses my professional Kitchenade, which I really liked, by quite a longshot, I now only do 1 stretch and fold and likely do not even need to do that.
As far as I’m concerned, this is the new baseline for home kitchens. It truly is a better mouse-trap than planetary and still aces batters, creams, and other types of doughs with its paddle and whisk attachments. It’s compact and lightweight yet durable with its internal die-cast aluminum frame, simple to use and to clean, easy on the eyes, has a good warranty, and Ooni support is well regarded. It’s strong enough for my heavy sprouted whole-wheat flour doughs and its silicone lid with sealable vent makes proofing a breeze. I’m a very pleased owner.
I haven't been able to get my sourdough to come together yet. I'm sure I'll figure it out but I can definitely mix dough by hand better than with the mixer lol. But I had to learn how to do that as well
Happy. . . with concerns how it will stand up over time

Happy to have the Ooni Core, I have concerns about material integriety and strength/speed of mixing compared to the Pro. I'm happy to have the smaller/lighter unit, but I think the base the metal bowl clicks into seems a bit flimsy, and the mixing speed/strength is definitely below the Pro. The dough took about 50% longer to come together than i expected and I ran into the "max 20min mix" time so turned off my mixer to assure I don't run it too long. I made the choice to be an early adopter, and I hope this machine lasts at least as long as the warranty, but I'm saving the box it came in because I'd be surprised if the plastic base holds up over time.
So far, I've had this machine for about two weeks. I've been reluctant to purchase a Halo Pro because I was afraid the size was too big for my needs. Well, after several different types of bread and pizza dough. . . In the Core, now I'm wondering if I made a mistake by not getting the bigger pro. I really like the ease of using this machine - I've been a diehard hand kneader because I "want to feel the dough. " but. . . Now I'm wondering what I was thinking. Cleanup is super easy, the machine is easy to use, it looks great on my counter, and I can't wait to make every different style of dough in my repertoire.
