I have the Ooni Freya, which is great but the wind and rain make it difficult at times to do a pizza. Plus the need to keep feeding the hopper to maintain temp can be onerous and easy to miss when running in and out with several pizzas. The Volt two is impressive, the first pizza with no experience was spot on. Heat up time no difference, however the weather doesn’t come into play. Loved not having to rotate the pizza and an added plus was being able to see it cooking. 105 to 135 seconds each pizza so far. Two draw backs, the first is the weight, because of my kitchen layout I have to move to another room to store it. Second is the fan noise, a bit louder than anticipated but taking both into consideration it still far out weighs using an outside oven.
First unit glass shattered after less than one month of use. Replacement unit glass shattered during the initial seasoning and was never able to use it.
I was sceptical as to how good this would be but it is fantastic. Brilliant tasting pizzas cooked to perfection in 90 seconds on my kitchen counter. A real game changer from the frozen pizza we were buying before. The one thing I would recommend is buying 2 peels so you can be preparing another pizza while 1 is cooking. Friday night is now pizza night.
Great product. Doesn’t take an unreasonable amount of time to preheat. But cook is excellent. I have the Ooni Karu 2 and previously Karu 1, it cooks to almost the same results without the need to keep topping wood. End result was a nice crispy base and nice charring around the crust. It has a much smaller footprint than expected and sits nicely in the corner of my kitchen. Great design, looks very professional. Looking for to trying other ideas in the oven.
