I Grill a lot. Like ten times a month in good weather. I've grilled in Rainstorms, in blizzards, I grilled ribs when for the Superbowl when it was 19° out. I have used at least twenty brands by now an this is my favorite after one bag. On my second now.
Lights easy, very stable temperature, and I do not know how the hell it lasts this long. I usually go though a bag a week. I've grilled 5 times on 2 bags now. (10 pounds of beef, 15 pounds of chicken, 25 brats, at least 50 hotdogs) Up until now my go-to was BB competition but this stuff is just as hot and lasts five times longer.
I will continue to buy this until it becomes unavailable which I hope is never.
I have a Kamado Joe Kettle Joe (hybrid kettle with ceramic tiles around the charcoal basket). No lump charcoal has done everything from low and slow to hot and fast as much as the Chunx lump charcoal. I keep trying others but I keep coming back to this one!
I've been using Jealous Devil Chunx exclusively in my Masterbuilt Gravity Series grills for at least two years now. I've never - not once - found stray material like string, nails, or rocks in a bag, as I have with other brands. There's also much less "gravel" in the bag compared to other leading brands. Lastly, it's far cleaner burning than any other charcoal I've used, leaving behind much less ash, and depositing almost no creosote in the charcoal hopper.
I’ve tried every brand of charcoal, none of them are half as good as this stuff. When they say longer and hotter burn, this product backs it up effortlessly.
This is the only lump charcoal I use because I grill on a deck and there are virtually no sparks or embers that fly around during the lighting process. That, and the fact that the lump is always large and uniform in size makes for a great cooking experience. The flavot you get from JD lump is also just the right amount. 10/10!
