[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the size of this crock pot. I put in 6 smaller pork roasts equalling about 13 pounds for pulled pork. It cooked wonderfully! It cooked even throughout the whole crock pot even at suck a large size. Definitely recommend for cooking larger roasts or quantities. I'm going to try making bone broth next. Love this crock pot.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never used a slow cooker before and I was curious to try one as I am very passionate about cooking and creating new entrees for my family. Upon unwrapping the Hamilton Beach 10 quarts slow cooker,I was liked the stainless steel exterior and the porcelain insert was heavy and large which is a great thing for me. The instruction did not include recipes so I was looking all over to find out how to proceed and trying to learn the concept of slow cooking. I started with chicken thighs that I just seasoned with salt and pepper and scattered few garlic cloves on top. I did not add any liquid and cooked it on slow for seven hours . The aroma of the kitchen was heavenly and It is lovely that the lid is clear glass so you can see what is going on inside without disturbing and loosing the steam. The result were divine. Buttery tender with silky texture and better than any chicken I have ever tried before. So I went on to try roast beef, soups, beans, etc etc. excellent results every time. Simple and fool proof. Outstanding and I am a convert. Thanks Hamilton Beach, well done
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I aquired a 10 quart Hamilton Beach slow cooker to be able to prepare stews and dips to serve my guests during the holidays. Then I used it to make my husbands favorite meal Beef Pot Roast which needs to be watched over to make sure that it come out moist and tender which usually would take me about 7-8 hours on the stove (an all day mission) but I put all my ingredients in this amazing slow cooker with the required water I set it and went off to work and when I got home about 5 hours later the aroma from this meal was amazing it was cooked to profection very tender juicy and full of flavor. This here is a game changer I will be making better and healthier meals to serve my family for now on.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, this item did exactly what it was supposed to do. My results were outstanding. It is a no-frills slow cooker, but is exceptional for cooking for a larger amount of people. The folding handles are a nice touch. Just wish it came with lid latch other models do.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The size of this slow cooker is perfect for my favorite dish, brown sugar ham. For years my six quart had to do the job with foil wrapped over the ham instead of the lid due to the size of the ham. This slow cooker handles an 8lb ham perfectly. It has also done a great job with regular recipes. Love the sleek design. The only con that I have found is the lack of a timing mechanism. You will need to set a separate timer and turn off the cooker or set to warm manually. Overall this is a great cooker and I am pleased with it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cooking has always been a passion of mine, whether it's preparing a quick meal or a making it an all day process. For years I've enjoyed using different methods of cooking and have always had a slow cooker on hand. I've mostly used a 6 quart cooker, but have recently found new recipes that require a larger capacity one.
Hamilton Beach graciously offered me a 10 quart slow cooker to try out and it's awesome! I didn't even realize slow cookers were made this big. I decided to try out one of my new recipes that calls for a whole shank portion of a ham. It fit perfectly and I have to admit that I've never had such a tender ham that completely fell off the bone. The flavor was perfect as the ham cooks within all of its own juices along with whatever you choose to add to it. This slow cooker seems pretty powerful. I noticed that within the first hour of cooking the ham on high, it had already started a minimal boil. Most people like to use their slow cookers when they're at work so I would recommend setting this one on low or warm if you plan on being gone most of the day so it won't over cook. It's nice that this cooker has the 3 settings of warm, low and high. I actually prefer to be home when using a slow cooker so I can peek at it and smell the food cooking throughout the day. I chose to cook the ham on the warm setting for about 5 more hours and it was thoroughly cooked.
This slow cooker is quite attractive with the outer casing being a brushed, stainless steel and a black inner basin that's super easy to clean. Just remove the basin inside and wash it by hand or put it in the dishwasher. It's a bit heavier than the one I've used in the past because it's bigger, so those who may have arthritis, be mindful of this when taking it out to clean it. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this product and look forward to trying out all the new larger meal recipes that I've been acquiring.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really nice crockpot. I love the look. I cooked a roast beef in it. It did a great job! The only reason I gave it a 4 star is the design. It would have been much better if the bottom was wider. I love that it is 10 quarts!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just made a delicious 4 lb. pot roast and had plenty of room for another 4 lbs. This thing is huge! I’ll definitely use this for the holidays when we invite plenty of guests. Simple to use. This would be a great addition for a large family or big parties.
