Extremely disappointed with this purchase. Apps like Sportsnet NOW, Bell Fibe TV, etc are not available on this which is a major downfall. I advise anyone looking to purchase this to review the available apps beforehand. Also, the screen mirroring function is very poor. Connection to a device is easy but once you try and start mirroring it just freezes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Why is there a cord? I thought it was a stick and a remote. Does it need to be plugged into a wall as well as a usb port? How long is the cord?

Ditch rogers and expand your reach

Seriously after installing one of these you can pretty much ditch Rogers or Bell and give yourself more flexibility for less cost.

Bonne qualité pour le 'stick' et facile d'installation!! Qualité vidéo et audio excellent dépendant du contenu sur Roku. Mais la télécommande pourrait être meilleur!! Dure sur les batteries!

In my view sometimes you need to paint the living-room. And in this case an update to your interface after 10 years. Most (ex. Firestick) have fine tuned theirs times over. Not Roku; same views with no updates. Having said that my wife does not like change and finds it good.
If you want CBC Gem look elsewhere; if you are a sports fan and want TSN or Sportsnet Now look elsewhere (their streaming services).
I like the ability to turn the tv on/off; the volume button and the remote in general.
Overall a fairly good streaming stick that could do with a refresh and more steaming apps. Due to this I would have to rate it just lower than a Firestick.

Cut the cird and turned to Roku and rabbit ears for local channels. But the Roku is awesome. Easy to use. Easy to add new streaming channels. Great picture. No lag.
