I do not recommend!
on February 3, 2022
Posted by: Mike
from Auburn, AL
Beware! It may not work for your tv properly. I set it up and can access it just fine on my tv. The actual Roku works fine but it will not allow me to then go to my cable box! Every time I try to go to anything else other than the Roku it automatically defaults back to the Roku and won’t let me do anything else (other than the Roku).
I do not recommend it at all.

Hi there Mike, help has arrived! You may want to try disabling "1-touch play" in Roku settings. Go to settings> system> control other devices> uncheck 1-Touch box.

You could also try another HDMI input on your TV. Disconnect the HDMI cable from your TV and firmly connect it to another HDMI input and test. It is possible that the behavior is not present on all HDMI inputs.

If you're still having trouble, try some of the troubleshooting techniques within this support article: https://support.roku.com/en-gb/article/115008012587.

We hope this helps!

RCA composite on Roku
on January 21, 2022

I only have one HDMI port on my TV which is used for cable. My current (older) ROKU uses the 3 RCA cables and it works OK except I can no longer stream Prime. A message says I need a new ROKU device. I do not have HD. How do to get Prime? I cannot find any way to talk to a person on your website.

Hi Jean,

Amazon announced in emails to Roku owners that, effective November 1, 2021, their Prime Video will no longer support a number of older Roku models.

The model numbers affected are:
Roku 2 HD/XD/XS models 2050X, 2500X, 2720X, 3000X, 3100X
Roku LT models 2400X, 2450X, 2700X
Roku SE model 2710X
Roku Streaming Stick models 3400X, 3420X, 3500X
(The Xs or other letters at the end of the model number are distribution codes and are irrelevant for this issue.)

To check your model number use Roku menu path Settings / System / About

If your player is not one of these model numbers, Try removing the channel from the Roku home screen by navigating to the channel tile, pressing the * key on your remote and choosing 'Remove channel'. Then restart your device from Settings>System>System restart. Once your player starts up again, add the channel back once more.

If you are still unable to resolve the issue, you'll want to contact Amazon Prime support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.

Thanks!

I don't get it

I've used Roku before and loved it. This time I keep getting an error 022" Wireless receiver not detected. The Long Range Wireless Receiver must be connected to the Romu player to work properly. Please plug into the Roku player and a power source. It is plugged into power. Do I need another device (player) to make this work?
Also, couldn't find assistance on website.

Hi Josh, we'd like to offer some assistance! When using a Roku Streaming Stick player, wireless interference from the HDMI connector may impact the performance of your remote. Try moving it away from the HDMI connector on your TV by installing a extension cable—we offer them for free here https://my.roku.com/hdmi.

If you still need assistance, please contact us directly at support.roku.com/contactus. Our team would be happy to assist you via live chat or email.

Remote stopped working after 2 days

I liked it for 2 days and then the remote stopped working. It is useless without a remote. If you get a device that actually works, it COULD be good.

Disappointing

This is my 6th Roku product and is the worse one to date. It will not stay connected. Every time I switch the TV input to the HDMI port this stick is plugged into I get an error that ''no device is connected.'' The stick is connected and plugged into a power strip. In order for the tv to recognize the Roku stick I have to unplug it and then plug it back in... everytime. Have tried different HDMI ports and power bricks to no avail. Would NOT recommend this product to anyone.
