WIsh It Controlled A/V Receiver Audio

Overall it is a nice player. Selected titles load quickly. Faster than Chromecast with Google TV. Roku remote is of better quality too. The disappointment is that the remote can not be programmed to control the audio level an a A/V receiver. I still need another remote to adjust the volume. Very backward in today's world. Both Fire stick an Chromecast with Google TV remotes do this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Increased WiFi speed

WiFi performance/speed has increased on this new model, I didn't have any issues with speed on my older Roku's but impressed with the 10 fold increase in speed. I've also noticed on streaming programs the 4k video appear much better images making watching nature video's more enjoyable.

My cable bill was out of control, so I bought the Roku stick as an experiment. It connected to my very old [not very] smart tv with no problems, setup was easy and it works perfectly.

I have had Roku TVs and devices for more than 11 years. During that time I have been extremely happy with the devices. Until...
In 2022 I bought three new 4K streaming Sticks. The devices themselves work but the remotes are awful! At least Once a week I have to reset the remotes. When they "die" they can only turn the TV on and operate the volume. I have to restart the streaming stick and go through the process of either pressing the button under in the battery compartment and waiting five seconds. Or, resetting the device completely and Going to the webpage to choose apps again, yadda yadda. After the 10 minutes it takes for this process, it rearranges the order in which you have your apps which is a pain! It probably takes another 10 minutes every time I have to reset the remote. Ugh!
While I love the device, seriously, do something about the remote Roku!
I would recommend this to a friend!

why not get the best

This is now our 4th ROKU Streaming Stick 4k. I can't say enough about this device. The ease of setting up, the quality of the device, The voice search feature is a fantastic bonus. The incredible variety of streaming channels available and the fact that it is all free! Sure, you can also subscribe to various streaming services with your ROKU Streaming Stick 4k but with the hundreds of free choices available it isn't necessary.
