Overall is great but only sometimes it takes a while to load not to often and the quality can be a bit better is great but not amaZing

Why did I wait so long to buy a Roku

I've been an Android box user for years. Only works for a couple of years and can never update to keep up with newer apps. Roku, plugged it in, installed Discovery Plus app and started watching. The Roku TV is amazing! I used to be able to get the same material with the Android Box with a great deal of effort. Should have tried the Roku Box a long time ago!

This is the 3rd Roku I have purchased. I have the oldest "shelf-top" Roku device with a remote that allows me to plug in some earphones without getting up. The jack is on the side of the remote. This one is in the man-cave so when my wife wants to go to bed early, I'm not killing her with my Klipsch speakers LOL.
The second Roku is a slightly smaller box that I was able to stick to the bottom of the TV - and is nearly invisible. I like this one because it has the added option of turning on/off the TV with the Roku remote. This one is in the bedroom.
This latest purchase is a simply stick, attached to the HDMI Port 2, and has recently become our go-to device instead of the set-top box with Android installed. The remote is good, volume button controls the TV Vol, and not some arbitrary control within the stick itself. This presents one with a greater range of volume when one wants. The Mute button is right below the volume and is handy for phone calls, etc.
The only thing I wish was that I could attach a finger-mouse (2.4Ghz or BT), but this stick is too small for external ports.
However, that being said, this stick is now on our large TV in the Living Room for everyone to utilize. I wish Roku made some reasonably priced Set-Top boxes with external ports for memory/devices, however, we are quite happy with this latest purchase - it does what it advertises and has many "surprises" with the settings I think folks will like. And all the "free" TV shows and Movies on the Roku Channel are a Bonus!

Roku 4k Media Streamer

Bought on sale. My original Roku didn't always have a great connection. (I'm in a basement apartment where wifi is included.) Upgraded to this because it boasts long range capabilities. It's no better than my old one. Still enjoy it... especially because they're currently giving two months free Crave and STARZ.

Had an older Roku device which was lagging and slow to connect. This 4K + stick is working well and got it because it was on sale. The picture quality and sound is great especially when hooked up to the receiver. Previous device I had a lot of picture degradation. But the best part is the fast connectivity as well as fast remote or mobile app. response.

Works very well with Sony 4K tv. Easy setup. Responds quickly via remote control. A few interesting programs on the Roku channel. Excellent picture.

Sound quality needs improvement

I bought this stick to replace my old laptop tasked with streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime. Installation was a breeze and the image quality was way better (still using an old plasma TV with 1080p resolution) however when comparing the sound between the two devices I was totally unimpressed, as my old laptop codec did a better rendering of the 5.1 Dolby (on my sound system) than this Roku. Will return it but if you enjoy a simple sound, don't follow my example.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
