Worth it

I've had a Roku Premiere for a few years but it only worked on wifi. I was getting frequent broadband delays and lags when streaming so I thought I'd try a Roku Ultra that can accommodate a fixed wired ethernet connection. What a difference! I can actually watch a one hour program in an hour, not 75 or 90 minutes. Plus this Roku includes voice activation, headphones and the remote is rechargeable from the base unit. Pretty cool. The only minor negative are the Quick Start instructions that don't cover all the features strangely.

So far I love this streamer more than the smaller streamers. So far I'm streaming over wifi and it's flawless without lag! My main reason for using this unit was for the MP4 playback via usb and that works flawlessly as well! I haven't tried the wired connection yet but I will within the near future and will post another review!
This is by far one of the best media streamers I have ever used in the last 15 years! This ROKU streamer is way better than the streamers that WD made, so to my fellow old AV guys, this ROKU streamer is worth the value!

Ethernet Speed and USB

My 5 star review is based on my experience with Roku devices and I am glad that a new model is available with Ethernet connection and a USB port. What is the speed of the Ethernet port?
Can video and audio files play via USB?

Big improvement for new parents

Primary reason I got the Ultra was because I could use a headset and listen to whatever I was streaming through the remote controller. This way I could stream shows while our infant slept.
We got rid of our Apple TV because it stopped updating certain streaming platforms because it was outdated. Roku’s price was way better than any alternative Apple products.

Had a previous Roku product I purchased a few years ago. Recently changed to a faster internet connection and the older Roku product was having difficulty with the WiFi connection. My new Roku Ultra works great. However you need to work on the Roku app to cast from IPad to it. It still disconnects or doesn't connect continuously.

Streamlined interface, very simple to use and really responsive. So much faster than my DVD player for running Netflix. Add onto that, the voice search feature, is so much more convenient than typing everything in. Definitely would recommend.
