Super drill. Smaller, lighter, and powerful.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a must have. This is a great drill. Very powerful and compact. I really like the atomic series because of their smaller size and this drill is a great. Everyone needs one because they’re so versatile. It’s nice they come with a battery, charger and a case. The case is a little small as seen in one of my photos but it still fits the drill and a couple of bit cases and that makes me happy. The drill is well made and fits in my hand well. It feels sturdy and I know it is heavy duty and will last because I have and use their older model. I’m just super happy with this one now because it’s just as good as my other one but smaller and lighter to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The atomic drill showed up just in time for a window installation. The drill/driver had tons of power to torque down concrete fasteners to secure the window. Its compact size and weight is what I like about the drill the most! Another great product by DEWALT!

Excellent Compact Drill/Driver

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was thoroughly impressed with this drill. This tool is a true game-changer when it comes to compact drills. What struck me the most was how easy it was to handle and maneuver, even in tight spaces where larger drills would struggle.
The brushless motor is an absolute workhorse, generating up to 340 unit watts out (UWO) of power. I found it perfect for most drilling and driving tasks but struggled with longer wood screws in deck boards without a pilot hole. However, this drill is a fantastic option for DIY projects and professional use.
One thing that stood out was how sturdy and durable the drill felt. The metal transmission and ½-inch ratcheting chuck ensure a secure grip on your bits and give you confidence that this tool will last for years.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Atomic Compact Series 20v Max Drill to anyone in the market for a small yet powerful drill. It strikes the perfect balance between size and power, making it an ideal choice for tight spaces or tasks requiring more maneuverability. While it may not be the best option for heavy-duty applications, it is a phenomenal choice for most other tasks.

Dewalt Atomic Series - 20v Drill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first time using a tool from the Atomic lineup. Compared to my full-size drill, I did not notice any change in power. The chuck held nicely and the tool itself is significantly lighter - especially when paired with a powerstack battery.
So far I've used the drill for some light duty drywall anchors; predrilling trusses for lags and I put it through its paces with some spade bits for fun. It held up great across the board and is going to become my new drill for my everyday bag. Its larger predecessor will stay at home so I can save weight on the go. Very impressed with the compact design!

Lightweight, compact, great LED!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new Atomic Series 20V Max Drill/Driver is an obvious upgrade to the Dewalt Subcompact drill line. I have mainly used a brushed DCD780 for years, but recently the brushes started wearing out. When I started using this DCD794 I was was very impressed with the weight, size, and the LED light.
1. Weight - The drill has a nice balance to it, and feels significantly lighter all around, especially when using the included 2ah battery or a PowerStack battery.
2. Length - The Atomic drill is noticeably shorter in length than other drills, and this was helpful when pre-drilling for vanity cabinet door mounts this week! I can only think of ways that the compact size will be advantageous on future projects.
3. Light - One of my favorite upgrades is the new style of LED light on this drill, it aims up from the base of the drill right onto the chuck area, which eliminates the age old problem of the drill and bit getting in the way of the light itself on the older models.

This drill came with a 2ah battery, but I have also used it with a PowerStack and a 6ah battery with great run time. My only question with this drill, which I haven't tested yet, is that the max no-load rpms seem lower on this model than others. That hasn't been a problem for any use case yet, including drilling multiple holes with a 1" Forstner bit in hardwood, but it does feel different.
While I will always keep and enjoy my old brushed drill, this Atomic has already become my grab and go drill in the shop and the house!

Great compact tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to use my new drill. I have a project that has several tight spaces. My other drill couldn’t get into the space. This drill fit in perfectly. The power is great. I do wish the battery was bigger. Also the slider to switch from 1-2 seems a little flimsy.

New Favorite Drill - Comfort & Convenient!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cordless compact 1/2 in Drill/Driver is the answer to my pain points with DCD791. This is kitted as DCD794D1and Includes (1) 20V 2.0Ah battery, charger, & tool bag. The 2.0Ah battery great out of the box with power and weight comfort. I switched over to a 5Ah batter and power felt very even. Just keep in mind that there is a reason why this drill is paired out of the box with a 2.0Ah battery for weight reduction and increased comfort - the handle features an ergonomic design for balance and easier tool control. The specs indicate Maximum Speed @ 1650 RPM. One thing that I really liked about this model versus a DCD791, is the grip and the finger hugs the variable speed trigger - it feels like you have a better hold and control of the tool. There is definetly a big weight difference when both drills are compared with a 2.0Ah batteries. The aesthetics look better and has a more rugged feel. This tool is a cross between a drill and impact driver. I have always leaned towards using my impact driver for its size and power. However, now you a compact size with variable speed torque to get the job done in tigh spaces. The drill features a high performance brushless motor and LED light to provide great illumination in dark spaces as you work. Overall happy with this tool!
