Almost ruined our 4th of July cook-out...

Start cooking fast with Kingsford® Match Light® Charcoal... that's a big lie!!!
It took 10 minutes just to get the charcoal started with a propane torch. It would have never started with a match!!!

Match Light Very Difficult to Light!

Bought a bag of Match Light yesterday, and it was VERY difficult to light. We used many matches, and finally got out a gas lighter that could put a constant flame on the briquets. Still, they are not all lit up like they normally did in the past. So, we're patiently waiting to see if they will stay lit. Frustrating, since we've never had this problem before with Match Light. Wondering if we got an old bag.

Sure Fire Frustration

I used to buy Match Light all the time. With my recent poor results of having an entire bag not wanting to light I switched to HEB brand. Now I have moved and there is no HEB I decided to try Match Light again. I bought a 11.6 lb bag to find out they were again just rocks. Now looking for another brand.

I normally am very satisfied with this product. However recently I purchased a small 6.2 lb bag and these briquets are not burning completely or at the usual temperature. I’ve used this for years and never had this problem.

Does not light

My son was visiting California from Michigan and we decided on having grilled steaks on our barbecue. Charcoals would not light, even though we tried about 30 matches. . We finally gave up and now have a full bag of "useless charcoals".
They say "match light" Don't be fooled. This is the second time with this result. I won't try them again.

Surprised to be disappointed

With the new season, I purchased a brand new bag of Match Light. This is the first time, I wasn't able to immediately light the charcoal. I even went and retrieved my cigar torch, which still did not light it. In the end, I put it all in a chimney and used some newspaper to light it. Has the composition changed?
