Fast and easy.

The grocery store I use ran out of the Kingsford original that I normally buy. So instead they had the Match Light, so I got a 12.4lb bag. I've read alot of negative comments on this website about them being difficult to light, heavy fuel smell, etc.
For me, these worked as advertised!! I stacked a charcoal chimney full, lit em up and within 10 minutes I had a hot fire going on my offset smoker. They cost a bit more, but since no fuel is required it's about the same as the regular briquettes. Would definetly buy again in a pinch. Kingsford's the best!

Did not Lite!! Terrible product.

I bought a second bag because the first bag did not lite. The second brand new bag also did not lite. I spent 10 minutes trying to start them with a flame under them. I returned them to store.

Doesn’t Light

This bag is 3 months old, stored in the house. We have tried for half an hour, matches, long lighter...will not light. Very disappointed

Lighter fluid needed

The last two times I have purchased and used Kingsford Match Light, I have had to go to the store and purchase lighter fluid because it won't start. I almost used an entire box of matches once trying to get it to light. The bag says, "No lighter fluid needed. Coals ready in 10 minutes." If this product doesn't get better, I will not recommend it for the price. Spend the money on the regular charcoal and lighter fluid. Kingsford, I have always purchased your products because they have been the best. However, you are letting your grill masters down lately. Help us out, please.

Quality of match light has gone down

I’m very disappointed that match light has went slowly but now surelyI bought the large bag and this is either horrible quality of match light or the Kingsford lighter fluid that I had to put on to keep them lit it was like that with every use I’ve had some in the past that was hard to light or went out but this was the worst of all I’ve ever had I will not trust the match light again it’s a waste to pay more only to add what I’m paying extra for the lighter fluid and still they burn up really fast always have they need to check the quality of them and make them like they did a few years ago

Won't light!!!

We have used this same brand of charcoal for years. Recently, I have had so much trouble getting it to light. I'm not sure if their was a formulation change or something but we have to use lighter fluid most of the time to get the fire going which is completely frustrating not to mention defeats the purpose buying the match light in the first place.

Was the best

Every year I stock up on this. I loved it for years. Just recently I have had so much trouble getting it to lite. I don’t know what changed. But it’s not the same. It takes us so much to get the fire going. I don’t like other brands. But it’s been really frustrating using them.

Horrible experience

I bought a bag of the matchlight from dollar general on Lincoln Ave in Lockport New York 14094 on 12/18/18. When I got it home and put it in my grill, it was absolutely awful. The bag burned but not one of the briquettes caught fire. I tried for 20 minutes to get the charcoal to ignite and it was a complete fail. I only buy Kingsford and have never had this happen before. I am extremely disappointed. I ended up cooking my food in the house using the oven. I will definitely be looking into other charcoal options.
