I have one that I have used for 25 years. 1 tune up and 1 belt replaced. I do not know how well the new one will work.

I choose the Oreck commercial vacuum because the retail models just were not great quality.

I have not used very much, so a 5-star rating is still very possible. Lightweight, long cord and nice solid unit. Bags are large as well. Classic no nonsense design and engineering.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great on carpet ans wood floors. Construction is not as good as my 16 year old unit. The cord is much better, heavier in construction. Its was almost together when we got it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old Oreck was 30 years old. The new Oreck is just about the same.

Better than we thought it would be!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum is better than we actually thought it would be. We are a US Naval Sea Cadet unit, located in Colt's Neck, NJ, and we needed something to "clean up" after each drill. This vac is perfect!

Good product but wrong purchase

We've been fans of Oreck for years. When we needed to replace our old one we bought this XLUpright. We didn't realize that a commercial one doesn't work on carpet that has any thickness to it. I'm tired out just trying to push it and drag it. It's OK on our wood floors. I hope to sell this and get one that works on carpet. But where to sell?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
