Ice melts fast and outside is covered with sweat. If any insulation it is inadequate. Structural wise ok.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As a tip, pre-chilling the mug with ice water for a few minutes before use can help improve performance and extend ice retention.

I have had mine for over 20 years, still use it and love love love it. Pop the lid on and give half a twist, good to go. Never has leaked and can be used right or left handed. Thank you for the awesome Bubba!
