I recently bought a ThinkPad P16 Intel Mobile Workstation. Lenovo assured me that it could run Linux Mint with no problem, but try as I might, I can't get it to play any sound when it's running Linux Mint. Also, the computer runs hot and has poor battery life.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great machine for my work in Geographic Information Systems, 3D geology modeling, and number crunching in huge databases. Really happy with this machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop is a thing of beauty. I say that because it is very capable and never stutters when executing a task. There are not many laptops I can say that about. I've lost track of how many ThinkPads I've had, intermixed with a multitude of other brands, but my previous one (P1 Gen 3) lasted 5 years which is unheard of in tech lifespans. This one, the P16 Gen 3, came out of the box running like a champ and has the ability to keep rolling for a long time. CPU in this never blinks no matter what I throw at it. It drives a 3-monitor setup and hosts 7 Thunderbolt gadgets so far. It manages 38TBs of SSD storage as well as interfaces with 2 servers/NAS units with another 64TBs of hard drives. I never have to wait for anything - it's so quick and responsive that it continues to amaze. I was warned that this laptop was heavy, but since it will never leave the under-desk drawer, that was not a factor here. This is a great choice if you need a laptop that churns away and never falters.
I would recommend this to a friend!
