Do NOT Purchase this product

There is a reason this is discontinued. Will not work with any Apple device with iOS 14 or later which is basically every model save a few dating back 10 years or so. Furthermore, you cannot disable the WAC on this unit to address this problem. To make matters worse, even once I was able to find an Android to connect the WiFi it failed again after a few months and would not connect to even an android after that. Honeywell tech said the wireless card likely failed after only four months which was another common problem. This unit is does not work and the wireless technology is useless.

This is almost a great thermostat

I really like they way this thermostat looks and operates, except for one thing: I will not let me set the heat below 61F. (Others here have mentioned this shortcoming also.) I like to keep the heat a little lower than that at night when we're all asleep, and even lower when nobody will be home for several days. (the original remote goes down to 50F) Unfortunately, I'll have to return this thermostat, as keeping the house at 61 or above will waste energy.

Hi Jon7sky, we'd like to have the opportunity to help you with the programming of your thermostat. You may have a setting configured that is causing the temperature to not go further than 61F. Please visit our Support Center link at the top of the page to find ways to contact us.– Charlie

Hope you guys bring this back, it's one of the few solutions to make a mini split "smart". I'm having trouble changing the offset, as the thermostat is reading a couple degrees off from my other thermostat. Your instructions in these comments don't work. I tried pressing - and + for ten seconds and it does not ever bring me anywhere in the menu.

Works the best of all mini splits

Yes, there is a learning curve but it is fast. Installation was challenging and did have to call, but customer service is excellent.mBecause I set up the wifi connection first, which can be challenging because of the wording to connect, to circle back to identify brand a nd model of a/c unit also gets difficult. However once installed and set up. You will agree this is the best wifi thermostat for a mini split

Inconsistent temperature control

We recently purchased 3 identical Century ductless units and three identical Honeywell D6 controllers (one paired to each ductless unit as they are on separate floors). All of the controllers are set to heat and 70F. One of the ductless units is currently reading 80F, another 65F, and the third 72F (notice not one is actually reading 70F). That's today anyway, yesterday they were all different, and tomorrow I expect three different temps again. All of the ductless units were maintaining 70F just fine before we installed the controllers, so they are not the issue. This product does not do the job it is supposed to do - and that's using it without connecting to wifi.
Was able to get connected to wifi after lots of troubleshooting and internet searches. The device needs to be connected to the 2.4GHz wireless network, not the 5GHz (which most folks are probably trying to connect to). A typical problem with older smart home devices, but there should be some tech help available in the manual or on the website to help folks who aren't familiar with this issue. Was able to program them to our business hours, but one day walked in and it was freezing, next day sweltering. So it's a fundamental flaw with the temperature sensing of the controller or its communication with the ductless units.

I bought four of these to control my mini split system specifically so I could set a schedule and control them remotely if needed. After a week of trying to connect them to wifi and receiving a "unable to connect to Lyric network", I was informed by Honeywell tech support that the D6 is not compatible with iPhone IOS 14 and greater. Had I known that they won't work with an iphone I wouldn't have bothered with them because they are basically useless now. Don't waste your time with these.

Hi, if you are not able to register your D6 with your Apple device, you can try using an android device. Once the thermostat has been registered and connected, you will be able to control it using your phone.

Visit our Support Center link at the top of the page for ways to get in touch and someone would be happy to help.
