Nothing but problems

I've been dealing with this docking station for a few months now. Originally my machine (win 11) would randomly bluescreen and reboot. After installing all drivers it mostly works however I get random blue screens on one of my monitors, when my machine sleeps I get a repeating beep through my attached speakers, and the network connection randomly stops passing traffic. I've installed all the updated drivers to no avail. To fix the monitor blue screen I have to disconnect the HDMI to the monitor, wait a minute, and then plug back in and the video comes back. For the random beeping whenever my machine sleeps I have to remember to turn my volume all the way down when leaving my office. For the network issue I bought a $15 USB/Ethernet adapter and it works great. Overall very disappointed in a product that is supposed to be the best with a high price tag as well.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our DK30CHDDPPD. We are sorry to hear that you experienced difficulty with DK30CHDDPPD as this is not expected behavior for our docking station. Our Technical Advisors will be reaching out to you shortly.
I have been trying everything to get my 2nd monitor to work with MacBook Pro. I changed the screen recording to allow DisplayPort driver to allow. Still, the monitor shows "No Signal". Very frustrating, as this is supposed to be plug and play.

I am using it with my 13" 2019 MacBook Pro (OS 10.15.3). My setup includes 2 x 4k LG monitors, an apple USB keyboard, a USB speaker (Jabra 510).
Problems: The dock has only 1 HDMI port which means I had to connect 1 of the 4k monitors with DisplayPort. Few times a day, when laptop gets out of sleep, the screen connected via HDMI comes up but the one with DisplayPort doesn't. Not sure why. Only unplugging the USB-C dock cable from the laptop and powering off/on the dock solves the problem. In most case, only a restart helps. No issue with the HDMI-connected screen.
Same issue with the Apple USB keyboard. Every once in a while, the keyboard doesn't work (it is ALWAYS plugged in, and dock is always on). Plugging out and in again doesn't work. Only a restart works.
Wish there was a solution for this (New firmware?) as the constant need for restarting and unplugging is very irritating and defeats the purpose of having a dock.
Help!

I had bought this with the hope of using 2 monitors with my MacBook Pro, I am running 10.14.3 and I am running the newest drivers as provided by StarTech but the only monitor that is working is the HDMI connected monitor.

Thanks for sharing this feedback. We suspect the issue you ran into is being caused by stricter security settings in macOS 10.13 and later. To allow the software to function, follow these steps after you've completed installation on your Mac: Open System Preferences. Open Security & Privacy. Click the Allow button near the bottom of the General tab. If you need assistance with this process, please call us or connect with us through our live chat service.
I received this item to review (my old review is missing!). Since then, however, I have gone on to buy several more, recommend them to friends, etc.
My one critique is that it really needs more USB3 on the front. I mean, the back is nice, but when you have the dock tucked out of the way in the back corner of the desk.... I swap USB devices often, so it's not a fluid movement.
It charges my Macbook just fine via the USB-C, has a charging USB port, and a single audio (for headset with mic) too. The SD card slot is a nice touch, and really fast with newer SD cards. I can download from my camera's memory card MUCH faster than my USB SD card reader from last year. Writes quick too.
Needs better "non-slide" feet!
The power adapter cable could be a touch longer (since this is a desk-mount type device), but that's just my view.
All in all, one of the best StarTech USB-C docks I've used so far!
This is another great docking station from Startech.com. Solid build and great ports, including an SD card reader that I really love. This dock worked perfectly for my Windows-based notebook, after installing all the necessary drivers. The issues came up while testing with a Macbook Pro, but I don’t entirely hold the Dock to blame. The issue came from the MacOS version; I upgraded to the very latest version and the chipset isn’t fully supported. Look at the website (support tab) and heed readme files and driver information bulletins, if you are the sort to not jump at the latest updates, you might not have any issues. I fully believe this is a temporary situation and will be solved in short order. This is a solid docking station with a 60 watt power supply, something I think is essential in a one-cable docking solution. Video output is excellent on both HDMI and DP.

I have been in the AV/IT Integration space for over 30 years.
I found this unit easy to setup and use on my Microsoft and Apple devices. I especially like that USB-C docking station features USB Power Delivery 2.0 to power and charge your laptop as you work. The SD Slot allows for direct access to the SD memory cards, which is a must for anyone who edits photos or videos. The unit provides more than enough connection possibilities with four USB 3.0 (Type-A) ports, a USB 3.0 fast-charge and sync port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a combined 3.5 mm audio and microphone port. The unit installs quickly and is compatible with a variety of operating systems, which I tested.
What is Included: 1 - Docking Station 1 - USB-C Cable 1 - Universal Power Adapter 1 - Instruction Manual

This dock has an impressive amount of ports (4 USB, SD Card, Headphone, HDMI, Display link, Gigabit Ethernet) for such a light weight device. While similar to some other StarTech USB-C docks the addition of an SD card slot is a life saver for those doing photo editing work, etc. The only downside experienced was that the power brick is large comparative to the dock itself. The weight of the power brick tends to tip or move the dock depending on your desk height and cable management. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.
