I purchase several composition books a year for my students. The composition books keep papers snug in the notebook and therefore does not allow papers to be easily torn out. The color selection allows my students to have a different color for each subject. This makes it easier for them to obtain the correct notebook quicker and more easily than loose papers. I often buy numerous composition books each year when Staples hold their back to school supplies sale. If you are looking for a notebook that will help your student not to lose their work these are the ones I would recommend.
Staples Composition Wide-Ruled Notebook is exactly the composition notebook I like my Fourth Graders to use for their Reading Interactive Notebook. The cheapest price I found was $1 until I saw these at Staples 2 for a $1! Thank you Staples for being so considerate of school teachers. We spend so much money out of our own pocket each year. My only compliant is that you put a limit on how many may be purchased. Of course I understand the reasoning behind the purchase limit. Although I live 75miles away and would make a special trip to Staples if there was not a purchase limit.
I bought a stack of these for my classroom. It seems like there is always at least one student without a composition book. If you do not have children or a student at this time buy some for a local teacher and donate them to a local school. These composition books are great for journals or for grammar notes. This helps students stay more organized than with a binder because the student does not have loose papers. In our class we tape or staple sheets in similar to a day book. I love the plain covers and the decorative ones too.
This is an amazing deal for the price. I use these books for multi purposes; the primary one is by my computer on my desk for any and all notes I make during the course of my day whether it's to do with my business or personal things. This saves me having tons of little notes all over the place with one central place for telephone numbers names e-mail addresses reminders and the like. It is the perfect way to try to organize my other disorganized life. At the current price you are offering these books I've managed to stock up so I thank you!
Every school year I grab the kids Composition Books from Staples. First off they are really durable and make it through (and beyond) the entire school year. Second as I've mentioned in another post Staples often has these on sale for a great price. The college and wide ruled do tend to be mixed in together and sometimes which one it is is not listed on the cover so take a second and open it up to see before buying (I've made that mistake before!) And at least at my store it seems like the wide ruled can be hard to find in colors other than black.
