These I would recommend to anyone from first graders in school to senior citizens! I always buy some to just have around. We have rental property and they are very useful for that. We find all kinds of good uses for them. Of course my grandchildren love them and that is my grandchildren in elementary school to college. They are great also because you can buy both wide rules and single rules and that is why both by grand daughters like them. One is in elementay and the other in college!
I purchased this for my who was starting third grade. He has used it everyday and has erased and rewritten many words. It has quality paper that can withstand erasures and has a good writing surface good quality cover that can withstand the daily use and travel to and from school. Ecellent quality when you consider the price I paid.
This is the second year I have purchased Staples composition books to use with my math classes. In previous years I had given my students wire-bound notebooks in which I asked them to take math notes which would be maintained for reference throughout the school year. That method proved to have its faults when students started tearing out sheets to use for homework purposes. Since the Staples composition books are hard-bound and the pages are not of the tear-out variety students are more likely to keep ongoing notes throughout the year. The sturdy construction of the composition books holds up to daily use and carrying to and from class.
I make one-of-a kind leather journal covers and use these as the refillable inserts so I purchase them in quantity. Taking a pole of my customers I get requests for unlined composition books. I wish these were also available unlined so it could be used as a sketchpad as well. The lines limit its use. There are only a few companies that make them unlined. Staples would get a lot of business from students artists designers and people in the science or creative communities if they made and offered them that way.
