Amazing Durability

Samsung I need you to sell these again! By far the most rugged phone I have ever owned. I am a very active person and have little disregard for phone safety. This phone held up to my needs for years! I left it on top of a car and it fell off going 60 mph and as I was going to retrieve it another vehicle ran it over sending it airborne. Had a cracked screen and battery was slightly bent but to my surprise it worked perfectly! It also one time slid out of a jacket pocket and into a box I was burning. I couldn't find it for a day and when I did the box had burnt around it melting the bottom plastic but before it could catch fire it fell out of box and into a puddle beneath. The back ripped where burnt and wouldn't close properly but once again it worked. Numerous falls from heights and drops. Even with damages and deformed battery it worked for years staying charged longer than in phone in my house of 6. Sadly I placed it in a cupholder that I did not realize was full of water and it absorbed a lot. It worked for 2 day even with water visable in screen. Today though, screen went black. Hoping it will dry out and be back to normal but need a spare just incase! Have an Alaska trip planed soon and will need it while in the wilderness for extended time!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had Great Luck with this phone. I work pouring concrete bridge decks in all conditions and we beat a phone up fast but this has lasted a long time thru a lot of drops and and dirt and slop. I'd buy another one.

Screen issue

the phone performs well enough but after a few months the screen has failed. like others mentioned, the backlight has stopped working. the phone is so flexible that the case bends when i put it in my pocket. apparently the flexing causes the backlight to fail.

phone worked ok at 1st but after a few months it would start freezing the screen would act up randomly blacking out randomly. randomly not respond to trying to unlock the screen or power on the screen at all i've had countless samsung phone before and this is the worst phone i've ever had

i expected a decent processing speed from this phone and bought it for my manager without reading reviews. i have been an exclusive samsung phone user for over 30 years. very disappointing!
you cannot even use it for a trade-in.

i have never had a samsung product perform as poorly as this one. blank screen only after 2 months of use. no damage, just defective.

I love that this phone is rugged, has a removable battery, sd card slot and headphone jack, and great features overall.
The Exynos 9611 chip in this phone supports FM and Samsung's official Australian site even shows how to use the "Radio app" for this phone. This app is apparently unavailable in the US.
While I like Samsung as a company, I feel that being locked out of a feature that my phone's hardware supports, is unacceptable, especially for an unlocked phone.
While I expect this nonsense from carriers, I expect better when buying the phone directly from the manufacturer.

this is the best phone i have ever owned for real work. that said, it isn't perfect.
i bought the us version early, and endured 2 or 3 months of flaky fingerprint reading (the trouble went away eventually, after an update). the ergonomics are iffy. i still haven't bought an accessory for it, say, a pogo charger, or spare battery (expensive and/or difficult to find). the photo quality won't exactly crush the latest high-end ultraphone. but they're good enough.
it's the best choice i know, for a man who does more than sit around and talk for a living. that's after 4 smartphones since 2010.
I would recommend this to a friend!
