A Near Perfect Electric Kettle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach Double Wall LED Kettle is an amazing product, one I wish I had many years ago. The thoughtful design of this product makes life a lot easier in the kitchen.
The kettle itself is a separate device from the power base. The power base is small, solid and sits nicely on the counter top. It does not take up much space. The kettle is clear, with a "pop open" lid. There is a small mesh screen attached to the lid, which will prevent water scale from pouring into your cup.
The clever design of the product has the kettle changing colors as the water heats, so you always know the temperature. When you first fill the kettle, place it on the power base, and flip the power switch, the color of the LED lights is purple. As the water begins to heat, the light color changes to blue, then green, then yellow/light green, and finally red just before the kettle automatically shuts down when the water is at maximum temperature. At shut down time, the water is boiling furiously.
If you want water at one of the interim temperatures, just flip off the power switch.
The kettle heats up very, very quickly. I have used the kettle half-full and the time is around 3 minutes for a full, rolling "red" boil.
A handy temperature guide is included in the instruction manual, matching colors to water temperature. There is also a short chart on temperature recommendations for French Press coffee, green tea, black tea, hot cocoa, and white tea.
The automatic shutoff when the water reaches the maximum temperature is a great safety feature. There is not a chance of letting the kettle boil dry. If the power switch is accidentally engaged while the kettle is dry, it will shut itself off. This feature alone has me excited to ditch my stove stop kettle, and use this wonderful kettle exclusively.
This is an almost perfect product in terms of design and usefulness. The electric cord attached to the power base is a bit on the short side, but nothing that cannot be worked with. Other than the short power cord, this near perfect product is a great new addition to my kitchen.
If you want the convenience of hot water "on demand", then this is the product for you. It is quick, efficient, well designed, and fun to watch the kettle change colors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An excellent water kettle. 1.7 liter capacity. Quick, cordless convenience with a color changing LED temperature indicator. So much faster and more convenient than boiling water on the stove. This double wall kettle also keeps the water warmer for 29% longer. There is an auto shutoff feature for peace of mind as well as a “boil-dry” feature to turn it off if the water level is too low. There are 5 colors on the LED indicator, so you can turn it off at your desired temp. There is a chart in the instructions as well as recommended temperatures for different teas and coffee. The 1500 watts brings a full kettle to a boil very quickly. It’s honestly impressive how well it works. The kettle sits on a base, so the cord isn’t physically attached to the kettle itself, so when you are pouring there is no cord to worry about. The glass is BPA free and the heating plate is stainless steel. This gives me confidence that it’ll last a long time. The lid opens easily with the push of a button and has a built in screen filter to keep debris from teabags, etc from ending up in your cup. The lid opens fully allowing for easy cleaning as well. I am very happy with this kettle. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality, convenient and user friendly water kettle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In love with how beautiful and practical this electric kettle is, in just 5 minutes it boils a liter of water without creating that much smoke that is created on the stove and the long time it takes to boil. This kettle is super easy to use and easy to clean and the best thing is that I don't have to keep an eye on it since it has an automatic shut-off. I love that it has a rack. It is ideal for straining when preparing a delicious tea. It is also beautiful and relaxing to see its 5 colors of LED lights while your water boils.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've recently got on a kick for hot tea or hot cocoa over coffee. While I do have a Hamilton Beach single serve coffee maker and I know I can make hot water with it. With cocoa, I like to drink about a half cup and then refill. This gives me plenty of water for either cocoa or tea. I liked the looks of this. Pretty cool light show. Definitely easy to see the water level. I have both the kettle and coffee maker on the counter ready for my mood!
