Game did not need a sequel

Just dissapointed at the story, it had potential to be a spin off even with the new character that the game shoves at you. I fell in love with the first game, and every now and then I would go trough the story again and again, and as much as I love the first game, I cannot seem to enjoy this one.

After finishing an entire playthrough, I would not recommend this to anybody. From a technical and visual aspect, this game is very good. But the narrative/story ruins the entire experience. The entire game feels very tiresome, forced, and unsatisfactory due to the bad story. The amazing technical aspects of the game are unfortunately not enough to redeem itself. Not worth the time and effort.

Joel could have been dispatched way later in the game or perhaps Tommy and Ellie's GF, and then Ellie learning that a cure is not possible due to the virus having mutated, would team up with Tommy or preferably Joel to seek revenge against the fireflies. Tommy could have had a prominent role with Ellie mainly playable and Joel and Tommy having a percentage of playable to save Ellie and demonstrate the truth about the fireflies. Ellie GF being dispatched plus Tommy would have been enough to seek revenge for the lies and deception. Abby's body was ridiculous, but far from ripped. Just out of proportion. I expected different from TLOU part 2. I may replay on hard+ mode, but in the winter. I need time far away from TLOU after this. I played TLOU 7 times and only failed to finish on grounded. This demonstrates my love of TLOU. Part 2 not so much.
The graphics and gameplay are great.

There are things you should buy, like the first in this series. Do not think the second one is anywhere as good. You’re better off replaying the first one. This one, is so bad you will actually start having a bad taste in your mouth aboutthe first one. You have been warned.

Endure and Survive

Nothing short of a masterpiece. This is a love letter to the first game and Left Behind and an absolute 10/10 in every aspect, with a tremendous, full-throttle story. It doesn't get any better.

Part 2 has ruined The Last of Us

To those of you who played the first game and enjoyed the masterpiece. If you do not want the game's universe/story/everything about it ruined, DO NOT buy, play, watch, or read anything about The Last of Us Part 2 story.
The gameplay is great, but the story has been completely ruined. You will enjoy the first 50% of the game story, remaining 40% will be terrible, and the last 10% of the game will completely make the whole game pointless. I honestly wish I could go back in time and never play this game or learn about the story. The first game was perfect and should have been left without a sequel.
Now if I were to rate the game based on it's gameplay, it would be great. However, The Last of Us game series is about the story. The first game made you feel such strong emotions to the point where a lot of us have even shed tears at story. With that said, my review is solely based on the story. I did feel strong deep emotions for the first 50% of the game. The remaining 50% made the game completely pointless.
This game is honestly WORSE then what people are saying about it.

What this game should do is lead you to question the importance of vengeance. There are some turns to the game that bigots would find challenging to accept (hence their one star ratings). It’s a beautiful yet gruesome game. I highly recommend it.
