Production value is unrivaled. Animation, VO, visuals ext.
Gameplay is decent and at least a bit of a step up from the first title.
Story/Narrative is a disaster and provided one of the most disappointing sequels of anything I have ever experienced. The structure, character, motivations and behaviors in some cases are straight up baffling.
Took one of the best games ever made and killed any interest in a third title.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ill be honest, there was alot of crazy smells in this game. But the story, the visuals, and the emotions all set new levels. I love this game. you should probably play Part 1 first.

Didn't expect this to be better than TLOU...

...but it was. Everything from the gameplay to- yes, even the story, was amazing. Those who had resentment towards the game did not understand the angle from which Naughty Dog was coming. This was their story to tell and honestly I think they did a great job. I don't want to get into details to avoid spoiling things for buyers, but trust me this game is awesome.

Incredible but may need minor changes

This game has a brilliant story. Often in these violent and action-driven games the player is encouraged to be as violent as possible. This story forces you to look at both sides of incredibly emotional and difficult issues, whether you want to be in that mindset or not. It shows the parallels of suffering, and the different ways that our reactions and choices can affect those around us. Graphics, gameplay, and sound effects are incredibly visceral and a few times I had to stop playing because it left me feeling emotionally raw. My only real cons are that the plot is delivered in a way that is a bit... lacking. During the second main part of the game as Abby, you already know the fates of many characters and so the connection to them simply can't be there. There are also points of the gameplay that just seem to drag and can become tedious.
Overall this is my second favourite game (after the first TLoU). I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good story and look into human psychology. I've played it through twice and both times I've immediately wanted to discuss it with anyone who would listen.

When superficial shock values in entertainment become the norm of this society, this is the result. TLOU 2 is the manifestation of resentment towards its own storyline - and this requires little to no creativity. The director has confused shock value with plot value, and it's sad most consumers continue to feed into this loop. Give it another ten years and there won't be any more games with any sort of meaningful plot, if this is the direction the market is heading.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had been a little skeptical having seen other reviews that were negative. I have not completed the game and I had recently replayed the PS3 The Last of Us original game before I bought part II. I enjoy the cinematics, the story, and there have been some challenging scenes and battles etc. Unique guitar playing feature that I have not seen before in any game which is unique. Overall I enjoy the look, feel, and features of the game. It's fun to escape into the story whether it's gathering ingredients to make bombs, weapons, and all that. Trying to figure out the strategy to kill all the nasty creatures and the gangs of enemy opposition. I have not been disappointed . 5 stars.

This is a great game, I’ve never been this into a game it’s fun, suspenseful, good story line. I don’t understand the bad reviews I give this 10/10.
