I've had this toaster only a couple of weeks and so can't say whether it will stand the test of time. The last toaster was disappointing because it didn't last more than about 3 years. So far this toaster does a good job on English muffins and (large) slices of bread--fresh or frozen. I particularly like the easy-access controls--easy to see, easy to handle. Easy to clean too. And it doesn't take up much space.

I bought this toaster based on a Wirecutter review. The review said it did a decent job of evenly browning the toast, and I disagree. Every piece of toast I've made so far has one dark and one light side, regardless of whether I'm making one or two pieces at a time. But 4 stars because it's cheap and for the price point, I'm just happy to get edible toast.
