Love soda stream

I have been a soda stream customer for decades. I love plain seltzer and the benefits to making it at home are numerous and the cartridge exchange program is convenient and quick. Love my machine, love the bottles!

here is sodastream in a nutshell: they sell you bottles, and the lids for those bottles do not fit. so if your bottle turns sideways, or upside down, you and everything around you, get soaked. Sodastream SYRUP is delivered with as much syrup on the OUTSIDE of the bottles as on the inside. A grotesque nightmare, except for the bugs, who really like it if you do not sterilize every syrup bottle the moment it comes on your property. And gas: after a year of not being able to get "bubble" canisters to make the water sparkle, i switched to another provider, who is WAY more reliable, way more accommodating, and does not ration how many bottles you can buy. I make a lot of carbonated water. Every time i do so, it's an adventure: I fill up a Sodastream 1-liter bottle to the fill line. I attach the Sodastream bottle to the Sodastream bubble maker. I then wager how much of the 1 liter of water will still be in the bottle when the bubble-maker is done, and how much will be on my counter-tops, cabinets and floors. Generally speaking, there's about a 1/2 cup of waste that comes bursting out of the bubble-maker because of some gasket issue or manufacturing defect. Your first reaction, only normal, is to panic, but after a while, you realize a) it's going to happen, b) you're going to get wet, and c) it's only water. So: buyer beware. And anyone who thinks that this solution is less expensive than buying seltzer at the store should do the math. And anyone who has bought one of the swag bottles that Sodastream makes that say, "My Only Bottle," should report online how many backpacks they have ruined when their "only" bottle leaked.
