Although I agree with the many customers who say the flavor isn’t as good as it used to be, we are still buying it when we can find it. The problem I have is the 11.5 ounce container isn’t enough. I would like to have a 51 ounce container but my online research has left me with nothing. This leaves me to search and buy other products.
I had been using Folgers vanilla EXCLUSIVELY since the early 2000, it was always great. The past couple YEARS, it has been tasting strange, I thought I was getting the formula ratio of coffee to water wrong, tried many combinations.I bought differnt coffee makers, Cuisinart, Bunn, Krupps, Braun, Capresso, also have a French press & a Chemex. And because I only like flavored coffee I keep trying. I have started buying Breve lattes at coffee shops now which costs a lot on a regular basis, OR I try to find coffee shops who sell flavored coffees which are not easy to find. I got compliments on the Folgers Vanilla I used to be able to make & it tasted great. Some days I have made 3-4 pots of the Folgers Vanilla with changes in the amounts of scoops I use, but end up tossing out the whole works & throwing the can of Folgers out as well. I have also tried keeping the silver seal foil attached thinking that will hold in flavor better. Another quirky thing that has happened to me with the vanilla is that sometimes upon opening a container the first pot will taste okay but after that it tastes strange, bitter and not vanilla flavor at all.
I like the regular and hazelnut so decided to try this. Even opening the package it smelled very artificial, but decided to give it a chance. Have made a few cups, and can't get over how it's more bad vanilla smell than any real flavor.
I have been buying this coffee for many years. The past 6 months there is something wrong. It has no vanilla flavor and the coffee tastes bitter. Not a random container or store, it happens no matter where I get it. I am know looking for a new brand.
I use artficial sweeteners, 50 plus years now and powdered creamer so it wasn't that. I usually use Folgers Columbian but ran out. Had a new tub of the French Vanilla which I had only used once. Tasted like butterscotch which I didn't care for so its at for a month in cabinet. Desperate for coffee I drank the French Vanilla for a week. Ended up with a toothache. Got to get to the store for my Folgers Columbian. Couldn't understand why a toothache. I don't eat sweets. Only difference was the French Vanilla. In Pain.
