Staples Vertical File Cabinet

I am very happy with the Staples Vertical File Cabinet. Legal Size. 4 Drawers. I use it a lot and you don't really need the adjustable wire to hold the files. I have a lot of files. The cabinet came in excellent condition.

Expected better

The lock mechanism is a piece of plastic and the drawers seem flimsy. Also I called twice to change my delivery day and was assured it was changed but still my cabinet was delivered the wrong day.

Worked great until drawer wouldn't open

I was so pleased with this purchase at first. I bought it almost three years ago based on the positive reviews. I use it lightly opening most drawers just a few times per week. But then today I went to the drawer where I save receipts filed by the month and the little tab you slide to open the drawer broke off. I couldn't open the drawer! And I did not do anything harsh with it it just popped off. I panicked. How would I get my things out? This was not the most important drawer but what if this happens to the drawer where I store my tax files? I don't feel like I can trust the filing cabinet anymore -- not even the drawers which still work. Luckily I was able to finally get it open by sliding a scissors down the side of the drawer that the latch is on and then jamming the latch open permanently with a small spoon (see photo). However I don't feel safe storing items in the filing cabinet which I might need. I am very frustrated. While this was a reasonable deal it's not cheap enough to be disposable. And anyway a filing cabinet is really not something you can put up with just breaking like this -- it can be a real inconvenience not being able to get at your files.

2 drawer file cabinet matches the 4 drawer file cabinet. It gives me what I needed for filing. It is not the top quality file cabinet but it works for me.

Quality construction for 22" 4 drawer

I had a hard time finding a 22" deep four drawer file cabinet that was well made and this one is! This cabinet was delivered the next day and was easy to unpack and set up. The draws slide easily even when I loaded it up with files. All four drawers lock which was a bonus in this size cabinet.

This cabinet is not top quality but the best quality file cabinet was more expensive and not in stock. I could not wait for that one to be ordered.

Good solid filing cabinet

Good solid filing cabinet with lots of space. All four drawers lock. The price was very reasonable especially with the 30% off coupon in their flier. It is already assembled so it was simple to setup. Just take out of the box and you are ready to go.
