This was a terrific deal for me. I also later bought an office chair with rollers and a plastic floor mat because of the deal on the cabinet and got another terrific deal as a follow up.

Beware when you buy something over the internet and not in person. I ordered this file cabinet and when I received it it had four dents in it. I informed Staples about this and that I was not very happy. They did remedy it for me. So far I really like the file cabinet.

I am very satisfied with the product I purchased. There was a little mix-up during the ordering and delivery process but it was quickly resolved by employees at the Waycross store.

Acceptable for the price

This cabinet is not as sturdily-constructed as an old commercial Steelcase cabinet but for the price the thickness of the steel the fit of the drawers and the finish are good. The drawer slides are full-length and the drawer catches are simple but close positively and strongly. The steel thickness does not seem "cheap and cheesy " but neither is it "heavy duty." It could easily be bent or dented. So because the cabinet was delivered to me I unboxed and examined it immediately after delivery. Fortunately I found no dents. I've not yet tried the lock. My only complaint is that there is a "permanent" warning label (about "fatal crushing") affixed to the top drawer front slightly cockeyed which I would rather have been easily removable (I left it in place). I purchased three of these and am satisfied with them (especially considering the reasonable price).

DOES THE JOB

The file cabinet arrived on time without any damages. I was concerned by multiple comments of damage of varying degrees and was relived there were none. I have given the unit only four stars since I have used it for about a week.
