Pulling my hair out.

Got 20SD10-V installed Seven months a go, and they just start saying, smoke alone error. All randomly.

Thanks for your message and for reaching out to Kidde. Nuisance alarms can occur for different reasons which include common things like —cooking, aerosols, steam, or dust entering the sensor. Here are some tips to help solve this… you can use the Hush feature if safe to do so (i.e., confirming there is no actual fire), clean the alarm thoroughly with compressed air into sensor openings, and ensure it’s placed away from kitchens and bathrooms, as well as HVAC vents and fans. If the behavior continues after cleaning and relocating, please contact 1-800-880-6788 for additional support or replacement options.

The battery that came with the smoke detector ran out after 1 year. it's supposed to last for ten years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy installation and setup

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This smoke alarm is actually very easy to install and seems like it will last for years to come. It has voice alerts and also a guaranteed 10 year sealed battery which is nice to avoid those annoying chirps in the middle of the night. I feel incredibly safe knowing that it is there. The casing of the unit is constructed of hard plastic and feels very solid. It is sleek looking and not terribly big and gaudy looking like some units from the past. Set up is a breeze and it even has the ability to interconnect with other kid units in your home, which is comforting knowing they can be synced up. I would absolutely purchase another. Kidde is a trusted name in smoke alarm and CO2 detectorsane I would recommend to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave this to my husband to test as he would have been a better tester than myself. He uses it in his 3d printing room and has like how it performs so far. It was super easy to install, and the design didn't disrupt the room design. I can't review in detection as we haven't had a real-life situation (he tested it with a fake situation) but overall seems to work reliably.

I am excited to try this smoke detector in my home. Although we have not had any incidents trigger the alarm, I really appreciate that it has a 10-year battery, voice alerts so you know which smoke detector is alarming, and it just twists onto the holding bracket. Very simple to use - perfect for any home, rental (unscrew it and take it with you when you leave!), or even mobile home / RV.
